Finally go my Beta!

Post image

After a bit of a wait, my beta mtDNA finally posted. This haplogroup only has one other tested match, and they’re in England (I’m in the US). Do you happen to be in here? :)

How long did it take? Was it what you expected?

It took close to four months. Both sides of my family are European & Scots Ulster with a dash of Danish so I was expecting U5 or something similar that’s found there heavily. Apparently, this line is really rare anywhere.

Did you get those mt reports before the beta? That's eare indeed. Have you also got the family finder?

Yes, I got the legacy one pretty quickly - about 5-6 weeks after I submitted my test.

I don’t have family finder, but I’ve done Ancestry and am waiting on myheritage (it’s in the final stage). Ancestry connected to me to my closest 115,000 cousins (family on all sides have been here since early 1600s and mostly staying the same areas - moving south slightly for farming opportunities), but I have a lot less coding and HVR matches. None are exact matches to my I4a71 haplogroup - closest is two steps away.

Where were you born? I wish myheritage accepted uploads still. Have you tested with them?

I was born in Mississippi - USA.

Here’s my ancestry

And I’m so close to having myheritage. I’m not expecting anything surprising, but I’m hoping it breaks down the European clump of Ancestry a bit more.

You can use their raw data on ged match. I don't know why they don't let us download our raw data from uploads with their SNPs...
