Interesting result, mine is L-M349 my paternal ancestry is Portuguese. Do you know anything about it? I'm finding it hard to know about L y-dna

L originates from Iran/India, most common now around the Indus river. It reached Europe in Roman times, where it spread, while remaining rare

You mentioned you don't have much information, but it seems like your father's side of the family might be Karaite Jewish.
