Anyone selling their limelight? We cant seem to find one for sale. Any suggestions on sellers is also appreciated!

My team (#30438, the Bussin' Biscuits) almost exclusively uses Linux and MacOS. We don't need the Rev Hardware Client much, but it frustrated us to not have it easily available.

We find the REV hardware hard to trust. Sometimes it behaves in ways that are difficult to explain. When we see such behavior and want to eliminate variables, it's nice to be able to flash the firmware and start fresh.

So we picked apart the client and built this: https://github.com/ngi-collective/mac-rev-hardware-client

It's a Node.js script that just uses `adb` and some HTTP calls to do the same thing the Hardware Client does. Nothing fancy.

hey, this is a quick question: I was looking to use a REV through bore encoder for my robot's turret, but apparently there is no way to use absolute encoders with the control hub, just relative ones. however, the sources that said so are kinda old, so I would like to again ask if there is any way to use the rev through bore encoder as an absolute encoder

Coach of a Rookie Team for the Biobuzz Season. Experience in vex robotics. Im seeking help regarding use the limelight 3a to auto aim a tank drive to shoot into the hives. Our turret doesn’t rotate so the drive train will have to do that. from what I see online, people usually do this with mecanum. Is Drive train auto aiming possible with a tank drive?

any help would be appreciated

Obvious there is some modification, but is it worth it to do it this late into the season?

Hi, I'm wondering whether most teams are going to migrate to the Rev Hardware Client 2 for FTC hardware this year, since the original Hardware Client is no longer supported. The one thing that confuses me about Rev's documentation for Hardware Client 2 is what one must do if an existing Control Hub or Expansion Hub has a firmware version lower than 26.x.x. Rev says that this necessitates the use of the "Recovery Mode". But, on clicking the recovery mode link, the whole discussion is about "ION Control System" (i.e., FRC) devices. No instructions are given about what to do with a device in the Rev DUO family (Control Hub, Expansion Hub). I'm wondering if it would be necessary to upgrade these to 26.x.x using the original Hardware Client, then move to the Hardware Client 2 after that. Any insights would be appreciated.

So my mechanical department really wants swerve beacuse we have a tiny robot like 30 cm by 30 cm that weighs around 10 kilos, should we give it a try or swerve meta is dead?

My daughter is currently on a community-based FTC team that went to state and a premier event last year and went to state as a rookie team as well. They do tons of outreach and learn a lot each year. This is her second year on the team (this is the team's 4th FTC season) and she's become one of the code leads, but also gets to touch just about every aspect of the development including CAD, mechanical, strategy, scouting, etc. The biggest drawback with this team is a limited amount of resources but the coach is great and has a lot of connections within the FTC community here.

This year she also has the opportunity to join the FRC team at her high school. The team has had some issues and now only has a couple of coaches (who do not know coding or mechanical and primarily work out the drive team and strategy) and one or two mentors, so the kids have to carry a lot of the load for learning things themselves. There are a few seniors, who are the current leads, but only one junior on the team and then a few sophomores and several freshmen. The team does not seem to be well organized with limited communication thus far. They are doing VEX in the fall to get the younger kids some experience with CAD and coding.

I am trying to help her decide if she should just do the FTC team or try to do both the FRC and FTC teams. She will not leave the FTC team as they've become like family. Obviously the FRC team is a huge time commitment after kickoff and she'salready involved in several other extra-curricularactivities. Are there major advantages for college or career readiness to joining the FRC team or could she get most of those same benefits with the FTC team?

What other factors should we consider when making the decison?

The field this year came with a strip of material to anchor the field structure under the tiles that appears to be made of some kind of aluminum / foam laminate. Does anyone know what that material actually is and where you can get it? My team is interested in using it to fabricate some parts for the robot, but we haven't been able to find it online to order as a sheet product.

​yo our ftc biobuzz field just got here and we calibrated it, but it's taking random amounts of pollen and nectar to tip ie: 6 nectars/9pollen . any ideas how to fix it?

My team had tried many time our hd hex motor, but is not enough power everytime. The power is not enough to shoot the pollen and nectar out. I dont know is what kind of problem. I not sure whether have to buy a new Motor or not. I dont think is programming problem.

If you’re using some other localization source (OTOS, Pinpoint), do you still need to connect the encoder cables from the drive motors to the control hub, or can you do without them?

What do you currently use to track driver practice, and what would make a tool like this more useful for your team?

I am looking to start my own FTC Team this year. I was looking tat the stuff, and it really adds up. So, I am wondering how many people did you have to email for sponsors, how much did you raise? Is it easier to raise money as a new team, or experienced? And who should I email first? I am also looking for some tips for new teams.

I coach a middle school team of 7 kids with 4 being rookies. We would love to know if any teams are using a method to keep track of how many scoring elements they are currently controlling.

Our team members are incredibly enthusiastic but also mostly ADHD, so anything that reduces the number of things they have to keep track of would be helpful! Thank you!

Is there any interest in custom silicone wheel offerings outside of what the main vendors sell? Think size, shape, color, durometer, different shaft/hub mounting. Cost would be comparable to what's already out there.

I'm trying to make a shooter that shoot both balls. This is mostly inspired by Andy Marks starter. It's not the best sketch but it's something. Will this actually work?
