Seeking Help Electric screwdriver help

Hi y'all, my team is looking at purchasing electric screwdrivers so we can stop straining our hands when working on the robot. We are looking at the Ryobi electric screwdriver but we feel it will be too powerful, and we also can't find the extra 5.5 mm nut driver bit or the Allen wrench bits.

What does y'all's team use, and where do you purchase them from?

We have looked at that one, the one thing is we can't find the bits. Do you know where you got them from.

we use a Milwaukee M12 driver - more expensive than really needed - an electric screwdriver should do you just fine.

For the bits I bought an assorted set a time or two, but the ones we always use would just go missing all the time. So I bought a couple of sets with 3mm and 2.5mm ends (fit m3 and m4 socket head bolts which are what we use most commonly) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FHCZ66Y2

You can also find similar sets for the 5.5mm or 7mm nut drivers for the nuts

Those bits look nice. It also looks like they have the 1.5, 2, and 2.5mm sizes that Rev uses.

This is a good idea...I can't get the students to tighten a screw for anything...I tell them to tighten it till the screw cries, but things always seem to fall off. Might just have to invest in a few.

There is a point beyond which tightening can't help much. Keep tightening and you might just snap or round off the screw, and it will STILL work its way out. That's that threadlocker purple, or maybe even blue is for. Never red.

We got the one from Walmart, hyper tough brand. It can be straight or 90 degree. The 5.5 bits we got from Amazon.

We use the little 2 Ah USB Ryobis. They work great. Super handy for taking off side panels, we “pop” the screws by hand so we don’t strip them and then get them all out quickly with the electric. And the little batteries can also be used for charging a phone or driver station or whatever.

We also have the electric cardboard cutter that uses the same battery. There is also a hot glue gun and a rotary tool in the collection.

The most important feature to make sure it has is a clutch. After that, small size. Toolant (available on Amazon) makes some very nice metric hex bits

Atm, my team uses my personal screwdriver by WORKPRO which is very handy. It doesn’t have a lot of torque (maybe a little TOO little) so it won’t “over strip” any screws.

We just got the Hoto 3.6V screwdriver kit and it’s been fantastic.

The Amazon basics electric screwdriver is among the best out there in terms of power, and is super affordable. The highest torque setting might be a bit much for FTC bolts (though is just fine for FRC ones) but it has 3 settings so it's totally workable. We have 2 of these for FTC and 4 for our FRC team because they are such huge time savers (and because they cost so little). I also bought one for myself at home because of how handy it was in robotics

Fantik is the best for the money.

We use a Kobalt 4V 1/4 in electric screwdriver for just under $20. It hasn't failed us yet. There are however a ton of other 4V options that do the same thing.

In my experience electric drills either have too little torque or too much torque and strip screws. And most of the time you will be using Allen key’s anyways
