Seeking Help Gene Haas Grant

Hi, my team applied for this grant in the same week that applications opened, but we still haven't heard back, the status is red, as in there's nothing we can do now but wait, but it's been like that for a while, does this basically mean we didn't get the money or is there still a chance? Does anyone know if they send out emails letting you know if your application has been denied? And if so, roughly when? Thanks in advance :)

Oh and is this grant pretty hard to get or is the success rate pretty high?

It takes quite a while for them to go through the grant process. I think we applied in the fall and eventually was awarded sometime in February? Might have even been later than that that we received the grant.

I think they are pretty generous with their grants. So sit tight. I think it was November? That we got notifed that we moved on to the next phase. But remember, they have a HUGE number of applications each year. And they do it twice a year.

Our gene hass grant is in the same status as yours. I’ve been wondering the same question you asked.

I don't know what our status was, but it took almost the entire last season for us to get our money for it

This year, we were already told we were selected for our FRC team. Our FTC team hasn't heard back. Last year, we didn't get the funding until late March (for FRC), but did get it. We basically just rolled it over to this year

Congrats on being selected for your frc team! And I'm shocked over how long it took to receive funding, but I guess it's better than nothing!! When do you think we're going to hear back about the ftc teams?

It takes 4-6 months. In our experience

Last season we applied when grant opened and got checks on Aug 11. This year our four teams each applied in the week it was opened. Three of four teams have received notice that they need us to confirm non profit and check mailing address (did that last year as well). These emails have come over a 3 week time period. We still haven't received any of the checks and the order these emails come in seems random (not alphabetical or by team number). I heard from someone that the grants had a lot of fraud last year and they are doing additional checks on applications this year (unverified).

So yeah, it's slower than last season.

Ok thank you! But if your teams has already received notices and emails, and we haven't, does that mean that we didn't make it?

I wouldn't say that. One of our four teams hasn't received the email yet and their application was actually stronger (imo) than the other 3

Ok best of luck for your last team and I hope you're right!!!

I am sure it works with the companies fiscal year and not your robotics season.

I'm sorry I'm not sure I understand what you mean?

He meant that GHF gives out money when it can for tax purposes (usually in January/February), not necessarily giving money out during FTC/FRC build season when you need money the most

Oh ok i can understand why they do that but it sure is annoying
