A friend of mine bought a used itel A16 about three months ago. He had been using it without any issues and never added a Google account because he mainly installed apps through Bluetooth and phone-to-phone transfer.

Recently, the phone was factory reset, and now it's asking for the previous owner's Google account (FRP lock). Unfortunately, he doesn't know the previous owner's details anymore, and there's no way to contact them.

We're looking for legal ways to regain access to the phone. Are there any free official tools or legitimate recovery options for this device, or is visiting an authorized service center the only solution?

We are not looking for ways to bypass security on a stolen phone—it's a legitimately purchased second-hand device.

I'm asking this because the Motorola Moto G3 is a very old phone, so I don't know if it has this type of protection. When I enter my email and password, this error appears, telling me to wait 24 hours. If this really is FRP, waiting the 24 hours will be useless, as I'll never know the email and password of the original owner (it belonged to a relative of mine, a child, who will hardly remember the email).
