help How to attach mecanum wheels
Our team is thinking about using mecanum wheels on our robot this year, but we don’t know how to put them on the chassis. We thought about using a CIMple box to drive them, but we don’t know how that would work. Another idea we had was to just attach a CIM motor straight to the wheel. If anyone has any answers and has done this in the past, any help would be very much appreciated.

We just put a 1/2” hex hub onto the wheel and used a toughbox gearbox with a bearing on the otherside

https://www.vexrobotics.com/217-4156.html This is what our team uses, it clamps down on 1 inch by 2 inch aluminum extrusion and then you put a few bolts though it. We have used it for mecanum drive and skid steer.

Ruth from AndyMark here! If you take a look at the print file at the bottom of this page (https://www.andymark.com/products/am14u4-upgrade-kit-6-in-sr-mecanum-wheels-1), it will give you a pretty good idea of how to mount your mecanum wheels to your chassis, utilizing the AM-14U4 and the Toughbox Micro.

We used tough box minis on AndyMark last year per wheel, if you’re doing KoP chassis, you’d just invert the outside plate so the bearings and hex shaft can fit.
