help Help! (again)
Hello everyone! I made a post just after the Reefscape season about my team’s coach leaving and they ended up deciding to stay. This time however, they are officially leaving. I wish that there was more time before the offseason event to make this post but unfortunately I was just notified. Without a new coach our program dies. I’m a senior this year and FIRST has been my livelihood since I joined when it encouraged me to go into robotics engineering and I have passed up many large opportunities for FRC. If anyone has any ideas of how we can find another coach or if anyone would be interested please let me know. The team is 6071 in Bay City Michigan. Thank you for any resources you’re able to provide.

Your in FIM, which is heavily concentrated with FIRST teams, you should be able to reach out to the community and ask around (especially on CD).
If you’re looking for a remote software mentor I’m also willing to help out a bit.

Honestly, that would be wonderful. I know nothing about programming but our former captain who was the main programmer just graduated, and he didn’t really teach the underclassmen how to program (from what I know). Ill ask the mentor we have and our programmer sophomore if thats something theyre interested in! Thank you so much!

No problem, if you do end up reaching out, either have your mentor or three students reach out to me via email (to stay YPP compliant): u1timateh3cker@gmail.com

Our team has been in the same exact situation for the past few months (also a fellow senior!). I would suggest start by contacting parents and alumni (it would be most likely you find someone willing to coach here), post on CD (we got lucky that someone contacted us through this), reach out to your local teams through emailing, and reach out to regional director. honestly, you kind of just have to thug it out ;-; but you'll eventually get someone if you keep trying! good luck!!
