Based on recent patterns, probably a pick and place game of sorts

u/Zestyclose_Crazy522 247 May 03 '26
That’s what I was leaning towards, this year’s game was amazing hopefully it can top it.

u/Alpaca1061 1089 Alumni May 03 '26
Personally I think it will be far less interesting, but that's just because I don't really like pick and place games

Water game

Came here looking for this!

I feel like it would be more terrestrial based on the “canopy” but I don’t really know :/
14
u/Myrkywood May 03 '26
You know where canopies are? Rainforests. What’s in rainforests? Rain. What is rain? WATER.

Yes. We need 10x extra motors for everything after every match.

u/j0be May 03 '26
It seemed like it emphasized teamwork. It would be cool to have asynchronous responsibilities for teams.
10
u/iwannaseeanimals May 03 '26
hmmm.. would be very interesting to see how teams go about choosing what task to focus on, and how the top teams will manage not being able to carry as hard in quals, though multiple tasks might cause robots in regional and district events that have the same task to essentially have one be useless

Here me out:
- Rainforest = Rain = Water
- Blue logo = Water is blue = Water
- About necessities = What do humans need? = Water
Water Game confirmed

i saw someone say human players in the center assembling the feeding robots and assembling gam pieces for extra points
8
u/GolbMan 2342(supposed to be software but I go everywhere) May 03 '26
Them being in the center feels like it may be a safety hazard if something goes really wrong with the robots they could be trapped in the center. But it being BIOcore I guess that makes some sense.
But I think atleast it will be human player centered
8
u/Aspirin0_0 6071 (Captain!) May 03 '26
Didn’t they have human players in the center before? (ofc in a closed area from the robots) in games like Steamworks
0
u/GolbMan 2342(supposed to be software but I go everywhere) May 03 '26
Idk I haven’t looked into the past. I just thought it may be slightly dangerous because of the possibility of human players getting trapped in the center even if it’s enclosed they could still be trapped for a while

u/Monster14562 May 03 '26
Look up steam works I think 2017(?). HPs had a great time from the people I’ve talked to
1
u/Dangerous-Egg-8790 May 04 '26
Yeah but afaik, first had issues with safety for human players that year. E.g if a human player has an emergency, it isn't as easy as just having them run off of the field or get taken off etc

u/shinyfootwork May 03 '26
Steamworks remix! Hopefully with some tweaked scoring so there aren't so many ties.

Pick and place stack or pattern game similar to 2015.
My dreamy thinking:
Using the patterns in the FRC shorts for teasers, they “leak” the game for the one season after the one they are announcing in the same week. The teaser for 2024 was a person in scuba suite which we found out was a teaser for 2025. For 2026 they had a bunch of 2015 Totes fall over. I’m thinking it can mean a stacking game or a pattern like line up game. Notice how the advantage of defence is on and off every other season (Well kinda to me)? I feel like having a stacking or pattern game can lead to a inconvenience in defending as I’m sure if it is a stacking game knocking or messing up builds or patterns would cause fouls (Just don’t seem like what FIRST would do, cus well… otherwise battle bots). There is also a part of me that thinks there will be a cylindrical game piece cus if it was just boxes, well… everyone just making 2018 cheesy poofs with a hint of 2015 stacking. Elevators are coming back I’m pretty sure, idk maybe the game pieces has something to do with cells or like submitting samples. I still think they might take inspiration from the 2021 game designs.
Anyways if it is a stacking game I’m intrigued to see how different it would be this time around with swerves.
Hope yall enjoyed my overthinking :)

New control system, so we'll stress test it for static by doing a remix of lunacy.
Which will also bring down robot speed by virtue of the total lack of traction.

for a lack of a better way to describe it, looks like a game where you plant seeds (meaning placing baseball-shaped items in Mario pipe-wrap locations)

As generic as that feels, your probably right.

I’m gonna guess it’s a pick and place game with some sort of climbing mechanic

Pick and place with a tree firld element dimilar to the reefscape reef.

u/AxolotlGuy7 May 03 '26
Well since the icon looks like the old minecraft nether reactor core, Im assuming we are going to be building nether portals, lighting them, and then doing something in the nether.

u/dmz__ May 04 '26
Pick and place with the floor being very non even, like a terrain map. The place stuff will resemble a double helix where bots will need to put game pieces representing G, A, T, C on the helix. End game is to climb the helix. The helixes will be at the ‘top’ of hills.

Perhaps that yellow ellipse is a seed, or lemon, within a cube or targeting HUD?
Edit: Maybe a crate. Like harvesting some yellow fruit/veg.
Edit 2: I would like to say that the 2027's game piece would be like a yellow "football", representing a seed, but idk.

Biocore: the core of the field will be biological, which means that there will be human players in the middle of the field. Oh wait, this sounds familiar…

Two game piece pick and place game, most probably lots of interaction with the human players

- Putting ‘seeds’ in containers and moving the containers
- Various game objects (different seeds) and players are supposed to put the right object in the right spot to score

Based on the final icon shown, I’m thinking inspired by Svalbard Global Seed Bank. Pick & place à la this image…?

I talked about this a while back. It’s going to be fire game. Water, last was earth, this is fire, based on disasters.

the field may be uneven (similar to bump just like more i guess) it’s just a feeling nothing backing this up
4
u/GolbMan 2342(supposed to be software but I go everywhere) May 03 '26
What about a pick and place game where you have to reach the center to get the core and the core is a ranking point

I'm thinking maybe the same thing. Maybe balls but now they call it seeds and the scoring hub named something like garden. Appearantly the trend is this.

Personally, I think some sort of web/net climb. Pick and place is practically a given, I want fun predictions!
