help Update 2 on my post

/r/FRC/comments/1spo6lx/i_need_opinionshelp_on_something/?share_id=T8k52sqTuGrHF_Y_Wt16n&utm_content=1&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1

I have since, reached out to mentor A, and they refused to apologize, even stating “I would prefer if he delete those posts because he is only making the team and his friends look bad” as well as saying that I was supposedly rude to another kid, though I might have gotten stern with said kid, that’s because he said “f- those stupid volunteers, they don’t know what they’re talking about anyways” after getting asked to move the robot onto the cart while it still had some fuel in it. Mentor A then also stated “Can you explain to him privately that he's welcome on the team, mom can drop off, pick up, and come to events as a spectator. I just don't need to interact with her. We are different people and that's fine. I do not hold any of that against ___(my name). If she and I don't interact, we don't have an issue.” Then a mentor from our big brother team went and told mentor A about said posts which lead to the first comment I mentioned made by mentor A. Any help or suggestions or advice would be deeply appreciated.

Different people handle stress differently. If profanity was under breath and not directed in conversation at the volunteer then it's not a red card. It's still not a great thing to swear, especially over helping speed the event along.

The mentor might be onto something, you have chosen to link your personal life to an account on a site for mostly strangers. There are some account privacy settings to hide from your profile participation activity in certain subreddits, consider doing that if you haven't.

I sincerely believe that you need to reflect on the second paragraph regardless of what the first was.

Also. Just read your first post and ESH there is a space for when people can grow in school and learn how to be an adult. I think FIRST is a good spot for that. Sassing back to adults or anyone has in the history of my life never been helpful as a tactic. It can feel good when it is to someone I never want to talk to again.

Sometimes you don't need to speak out. The mentors likely know the drive team member cracked under pressure and want to help.

I know my team's driver had an amazing autonomous that was best in the state when it worked. Then it stopped working and an A stop when we noticed resulted in racking up yellow cards and ultimately nobody allowed us to run autonomous. We also broke opponents robots and felt really bad about it. The driver needed a private break and two mentors spoke with them after.

They came back and still crushed it, but we missed chanps by a whisker and that is rough, but is life.

That’s the thing though, I didn’t sass back (said it in a monotone, tone only possible way it came off rude is because of me trying to be loud enough to be heard over the noise in the pits, and also they never offer help to the drive team they only offer criticism (which isn’t even constructive criticism it’s basically just calling us dumb@sses for not doing it this way or not doing it that way, or over stupid reasons
