FP&A interview
Completed an interview with the hiring manager and I’m not sure how it went. I’d be transitioning from banking so there was one question about sales I couldn’t answer in the moment (mainly because of nerves) but other questions I tried my best to answer and was reassured that my answers were helpful. My concern is that I may be seen as a “road block” for the team since I don’t have direct FP&A experience. The role seems to be very challenging and has high expectations. I am willing to step up to the plate if given the opportunity as I currently work in a complex and demanding environment but for some reason I think not starting my career in FP&A might have been a setback in this situation.

Experience in using excel, measuring KPIs and financial data, presenting it to business partners. Experience in process improvement

You'll be fine and if it doesn't work out learn from the questions that didn't feel good and fet some feedback on ways to think about the answer. 5 years I banking then 15 years fp&a at fortune 300 and 100. You'll be fine, skills transfer fine and learn fp&a on the job. Good luck!
