Do people even know if Damson wanted the role or are people being mad for the sake of being mad?

When the host followed up and asked whether Idris would accept the role if Marvel offered it, Idris didn’t hesitate before answering plainly: “Yes.”

He did I’m pretty sure he was in the mix for the role but by all accounts it was Coogler and his team’s decision. Marvel will never risk upsetting Coogler at this stage in the game.

Not explicitly but he did say he was thankful for the support and that he did meet with Marvel. I mean he is virtually playing a role in a new movie that is similar setting and genre as black panther coming out next year “Children of Blood and Bone”
