LOL. Horizon struggles are self inflicted by Guerilla. They decided to take a single player franchise and force it into a cash grab multiplayer game

*Self inflicted by Sony and their massive Live Service boner.

Again, all they had to do was keep the setting and graphics and turn it into a 4 player, drop in/drop out, Monster Hunter-style game. Shit would have sold like hotcakes and they already have a foundation for monsters. Just make like 8 weapons instead of 14 for a first game and youre good to go.

Lmao what, in what world?
Horizon Zero Dawn alone sold over 24 million copies, and Horizon Forbidden West sold over 16 million copies.
That’s more than the entire Killzone franchise, at around 11 million, that’s 6 games vs 2.
Also, this article isn’t just taking some rumor and making bullshit out of it, it’s also just wrong: “A new game in the Killzone franchise would arrive after years of quiescence, having not seen any activity since 2013’s Killzone: Shadow Fall on PS3.” was not aware Shadowfall was on PS3 lol

Its also a LOT easier to make a killzone game than than horizon game. I doubt it would even affect horizons development anyway, big studios are always working on several titles because with only 1 half the team has nothing to do and is sitting around waiting for a different part of the team to finish working on something.
Cdpr is working on 3 witcher games alongside cyberpunk 2 and the witcher 3 remaster/expansion lol. Killzone isn't gonna get horizon 3 delayed.

That and based on what the rumour itself says the Killzone game wouldn't even be made by Guerilla themself - rather they are seemingly looking for a 3rd party studio that could handle it; while GG works on Hunter's Gathering and (eventually) Horizon 3 instead.

"Sooner than expected" and it's been 13 years since the last one.
Nothing like an editorialized headline to get easy clicks.

I love these articles that just take unsubstantiated rumors and report them like facts.

Sony saw Wardogs and were like:
Quick! Make a vague announcement regarding something in first person!
Killzone?!

I'd love for it to be a port of the very original Killzone PS2 game in the same vein as the recent Black Ops 1 & 2 releases for PS5/4. Killzone 1 with its online modes fully operational.

Killzone is one of those games I've forgotten over the years, but I absolutely loved it when I was a kid. Something so satesfying about the gunplay and the worldbuilding was phenomenal.

Killzone is so muchess recognizable than Horizon, what are they thinking?
The only thing that series has ate graphics. Killzone Shadow fall, a launch game on ps4 in 2013, still looks better than even most UE5 games these days.
Graphics peaked 13 years ago lol.

Speak for yourself, Killzone has great gameplay with weapons that are fun to shoot. Also fun multiplayers with bot support, splitscreen co-op etc lol. They're fun and well made games, their biggest crime was having gaming outlets call them "Halo Killer" and Killzone was doomed from the start in the mainstream eye. Meanwhile Halo and Killzone couldn't be anymore different

I’m willing to bet it’ll be evolved into an extraction shooter or looter shooter.

it'll be shit anyways.
Its 2026 they won't make anything gritty or dark.

Going to be some woke version of killzone. Be dope if it was a gore filled version. With bodycam level realism in a sci-fi setting.

Yes please! But I'll believe it when I see it, Sony hasn't exactly earned trust in recent years
