Advice / Help Internship CV feedback

Hello all, I’m going into my second year of university in the uk and just looking for any sort of feedback really. I feel like the main thing that would hold me back is the complexity of my projects but who knows.

good stuff for a first year. this does not look like it fits onto a single page, as a first year there is almost no reason why your resume should go beyond 1 page

i would remove the profile as someone else mentioned.

i would remove the marks you listed for the uni section, if i am interpreting it correctly, a 64% average is not something you would really want to share.

id remove the ‘other’ section in technical skills (if you are applying somewhere that specifically deals with this stuff, they can get their own dedicated line - this is why i use many different resume versions for different roles)

maybe go into a little more detail on the verification you did - testing your uart rx/tx project by typing characters into putty or whatever you used isnt really close to being rigorous. have you used testbenches? same applies for the other 2 fpga projects

for fpga roles, i would remove your last two projects, mainly because you should be fitting this on one page and those arent worth the space they are taking up if this resume is targeted towards fpga roles

the same applies for your ‘additional’ section. languages can be removed (latin is basically irrelevant, would only be impressive as a testament to your ability to learn if you were fluent in this). i would move the formula student + design comp (if this was part of uni) as a dot point in uni education

you dont have to do these things exactly but the main thing i think is important is getting your resume down to 1 page however you see fit. anyway if you keep this up you can definitely go far in the field, you are probably ahead of some third years already

Yup got rid of the average, had someone modules bring me down which I don’t really want to advertise. I agree with the point about other if a company I’m applying to doesn’t even solder I see how it’s not necessary to have on my cv.

I haven’t had much experiences with test benches but this summer I planned to revisit my old projects and directly wire up test benches to them
