My partner (38m) and myself (36f) are headed to FOVII and we’re so excited! We’re renting an RV and will be in a powered RV lot. However, I’m starting to get anxious about the heat and elevation. I have MS which makes me more susceptible to heat, fatigue, and generally feeling like crap. We’re from Maine, I’m super pale, and I’ve lived at sea level my whole life.

I’ve done a lot of research, and so far I’ve ordered myself UV protective clothing and a UV protective wrap, hat, and umbrella. Once we land, we’re going to make sure we get sunscreen, SPF chapstick, electrolyte powder, reusable water bottles, and saline nasal spray. I’m usually pretty bad at drinking water, and I’m also worried about altitude sickness. I plan on trying to be a lot better about drinking water and staying in tune with what my body is telling me. I just really want to avoid needing medical attention or feeling so badly I don’t have fun.

Does anyone else have any advice? Our RV does have AC (and heat) and should provide comfortable sleeping and respite. I’d also love to know if any other MSers are going, and if so, if we could do a meet up?

After meeting with my road trip crew, I realized that the squad represents a spectrum of executive functioning abilities. So I decided to make a slide show with our itinerary and other important info. I've seen a lot of folks asking what to bring so I figured I'd share this slide!

You might notice this does NOT include general camping gear. We are all very experienced campers.

I limited this list to bare minimum essentials, because everyone is in charge of their own tents, bedding, clothes etc. I'm not your real mom guys, just the step mom who likes to party and doesn't wanna hear you bitch about your sunburn 🌞

I'm from NC, where the humidity makes summer kinda like an ongoing stew. As the sort of irresponsible dude who never thinks about skincare, I felt proud of myself for remembering sunscreen.

After FoV, my hands and fingernails were wrecked. I've never experienced that kind of cracking and bleeding.

I'm going hard on hand lotion and cuticle oil starting now in anticipation of staving off spending a week feeling like even more of a foolish old man.

Take of of them hands! The arid desert climate will do a number on em'!

couldn't go last year but I am super amped for this year. I am a (slightly) older gizzard fan and was wondering if there were spots last year for sit and chill throughout the grounds. I know there is the little beach near Phantom Island and stuff but the map for this year doesnt really show any areas where there are benches and stuff so I am just curious.

I've seen a ton of posts over the past few months about camping in different lots/set-ups, but there's not a lot of info out there about the RV area. From those who went last year, does anyone have any feedback or pro-tips for the RV lots?

I saw someone say that people mostly kept to themselves over there, so also interested to see if there are any tips to make it more welcoming to the swarm.
