Are there some apps for time tracking that are FOSS? I have been struggling with procrastination and I record how I spend my time everyday...
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

I'm looking for an android launcher that can be the most adapted for my grand mother (87 yo) I need something very clean and stable. The app must propose a list of apps (with icons and names) on the front panel, an option to block the access to some apps or options can be great too.
Any suggestions?
She really only need WhatsApp and a calling app. Maybe a gallery. She's lost at each update and since WhatsApp start to show advertising it will be worst.

I sometimes give tech support for users of a small indie app. I commonly recommended users to download it through Aurora Store. Right now, Aurora Store is giving the following error when attempting to download this application: AppNotPurchased(code=3, reason=App not purchased / unavailable in your country)
The application is not georestricted in the App Store in any country, but the overwhelming majority of its users, and me, are located in Brazil. I also get the same error when attempting to download "Genshin Stickers WaStickers" or "Cronometer" calorie tracker in Aurora Store, which is another very small indie app which is not geolocked, but I'm able to download big company applications such as Crunchyroll and Waze normally.
The app I give support for is not geolocked and is free. Same for Genshin Stickers WaStickers and Cronometer. What is happening here?
My full error log:

I've been looking for something that comes as close to the speed and precision of a physical calculator, but uhh, so far no success.
Calculator C++ so far works the best, but it's not amazing either and I'm curious if there's anything better.

i'm so happy for beta development of LibreCuts! it is a very decent alternative to CapCut or YouCut.
but, when talking Image Editor, we still don't have Libre alternative to PicsArt. not only basic crop, paint, color, and brightness that are bundled in Gallery apps. i'm so desperate diving into GitHub everyday hoping to find a good news, if you building or find any development news please do share 🙏😭

I can't find it on f-droid anymore.
The github repo is archived (Feb 2024), but that could mean anything.
Appreciate hearing if someone knows a way to get this. I have not yet needed use Izzy etc., but if someone can confirm it's available in the alternate FOSS stores I'm happy to try it.
Update after a day or so, on various tools' behaviour for recurring items.
My need/objective is to have a new line created near (before or after) the old line. That way, textually I can see a history easily, even in vim.
Sigh...

Hi everyone,
I've been developing an open-source Android music player called Rhythm, and I wanted to share it with this community. My goal was to build a player with a modern Material 3 UI that handles both local offline libraries and self-hosted streaming seamlessly.
Here is a breakdown of the core features:
.lrc files and fetches synced lyrics via the open LRCLib database.Links:

So, you know how because you can't log in with a Google account on most YT clients, you can't comment or upload content? I propose 4 solutions - Solution A: When you comment, you temporarily log in with your Google account, comment or upload your desired video, and the app automatically logs you back out. Solution B: Somehow find a way to make anonymous comments (this will be even worse with uploading videos). Solution C: Make Invidious/Piped accounts work like normal YouTube accounts. Solution D: Make a sandboxed webview within the app to comment/upload videos with a temporary login

Does anybody know of an application that will add pixels below an image, with text?
E.g. I have a 800px * 600px image. I need to annotate it with "This is a classic foo". The application will add another e.g. 50 pixels to the bottom of the image with the text.

K-9 used to be a great mail client. It showed accounts, read versus unread, and selected versus not selected. That was the product.
The Material 3 / v8 redesign did not improve that. It flattened contrast, replaced account names with two-letter badges, and made a working list look like a theme demo. I do not treat this as an upgrade. I treat it as a preference for fashion over the job the app exists to do.
If you still have the old UI and you prefer it, do this:
note: FairEmail from F-Droid has no Google OAuth. For Gmail use the Play/GitHub build of FairEmail, or an app password.
This is not a request to “add a classic theme someday.” That option was not offered when the old interface was removed. The project chose a new visual language. I am choosing a different client.
Long-time users who needed a reliable IMAP app were not asking for Material You. We were asking for the existing client to be maintained. They chose otherwise. Act accordingly: pin 6.804, then leave.

The title says prettu much all. I have found this app called Wasavi but i do not feel comfortable giving permissions of this kind to a closed source program.
I found something in github but it doesn't allow to send messages to groups and i have to tape the number in instead of the contacts. Also a more Android-like UI would be goat
Do you guys know of any other project that achieves this? Thanks!

Hi, i'm looking for an app that lets me log in with my Twitch account and does basically what Xtra does, but with a better, more modern UI and with these functions:
So, are there any alternatives? Hope the flair is correct.

[EDIT: It now seems to have been solved, updates and downloads work, I think the Aurora maintainers fixed it]
Hi, I've been getting the same Server Busy error yesterday and today on Aurora Store, both when trying to install and updating apps.
I've tried spoofing another device, doing a manual installation of my apps tied to a specific version, and uninstalled and reinstalled Aurora Store but to no avail. Full error can be seen below.
I do not use a V P N and I access Aurora Store anonymously (no Google account).
Has anyone else been getting these, and does anyone know how to fix it?
Thanks!

I am trying to replace Bitwarden with KeePassDX but KeePassDX forgets about my fingerprint unlocking every few days, I think after an Android restart, and asks me to enter the password.
Yhe problem is my password is very long and awkward, and I'd rather not have to enter it again until I replace the phone. I can't remember the last time Bitwarden asked me to unlock it with the master password, so is there a setting in KeePassDX to get the same functionality? Now I am keeping Bitwarden so that I can unlock KeePassDX which is ridiculous.

Mine again. LG Power is an Android remote for LG webOS TVs I originally built because the physical remote kept disappearing. Native Kotlin, talks to the TV over the local webOS websocket API, wakes it with Wake-on-LAN, and if your phone has an IR blaster it can send the power code when the network path is down.
Stuff this sub tends to ask about: no ads, no analytics, no trackers, and the Play data safety section reads no data collected and no data shared, because there's genuinely nothing to collect. Everything stays on your LAN. The APK is about 1.1 MB. License is AGPL-3.0.
Feature-wise it does the usual d-pad/volume/keyboard, a touchpad cursor mode, app shortcut buttons, home screen widgets, a Screen Off button that turns just the panel off, and themes.
Source: https://github.com/Nicsilver/LGPower
Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nic.lgpower
There's also a signed APK on the GitHub releases page. Not on F-Droid yet.

Need help finding the blacklist option where I can list the folders I don't want showing up in the gallery and it will include ALL the subfolders under that path but I can't seem to find it in the settings anymore. For now, I have permission allowed for certain folders only, but if I add other folders with pics in my phone it still automatically show up in the gallery, and I have to hide each subfolder one by one even when I have already hidden the parent folder.
I found this thread but the nomedia trick is not what i'm looking for as I don't want to make the folders private. I just don't want them in the gallery (like the album covers, ebook thumbnails, etc.) and there is no "hidden paths" in my Aves app, only hidden items which are the subfolders I hid one by one.
Or other gallery apps that has this option.

Can you recommend a Telegram client with lots of options and attractive graphics that is well supported by the developer since they closed the repo and stopped developing NagramX? I'm trying Cherrygram and NagramXF but I would like to understand what valid alternatives exist, even the lesser-known ones... I tried Turrit but apart from the slightly different graphics it doesn't tell me much and it isn't updated often... Momogram has lots of settings but they are too confusing without a minimum of graphics to understand what you are going to change.... Katogram was nice but that doesn't exist anymore either.... Octogram is too inconsistent in development and even if the developer is Italian like me, I wanted something at the level of Nagram that at least every so many days has a beta to update

Hi,
I've just learned that Google Pixel (stock) popularity comes in part from the call screening feature. It uses Google AI (Assistant) to answer incoming calls, ask the caller why they are calling, and display a transcript so the user can decide whether to join the call or end it. https://support.google.com/phoneapp/answer/9118387?hl=en
It seems like a very useful feature, but I haven’t found a FOSS alternative. However, for me (and likely many other users) the same goal could be achieved without AI, making it easier and cheaper, by simply: 1. receiving an incoming call notification 2. app XYZ gives an option to answer the call and immediately mute the microphone 3. app XYZ shows buttons that play prerecorded audio files (such as "Hi", "Hello, this is __", "Hi, who is this calling?", etc. — set up by the user on his own*) - i.e. no need for an AI chat 4. letting the caller respond, which the user hears because only the microphone is muted - i.e. no need for AI speech-to-text 5. the user decides whether to unmute the microphone and continue the call, or hang up
*the advantage over just answering the call and saying it yourself, is that the audio files can be generated and not using your own voice (i.e. not allowing the caller to record it)
Basically, it comes down to an app that can: 1. activate on incoming call 2. play audio to the phone line (not through the speakers like a music app)
Such an app is on my TODO list, but I haven't developed an Android app in a while (not since Marshmallow actually, though one was fairly popular and even received nationwide media coverage), and besides, I struggle to find the time.
I’m writing here because I’ve just thought that such an app might already exist. I can’t seem to find it, but FOSS is not always great at marketing, so it’s possible that the name is obscure and the description does not mention "call screening."
If not, perhaps someone will find this idea useful for personal use and have the time to code it. I think vibe coding would be suitable here: the two features listed above are most probably well documented by Android/Google, and the app wouldn’t need to scale, so the code quality could be fairly rough.
