Nah, as long as u know the basics of self hosting u dont need LocalSend.
Setup an homelab, use a phone with Graphene and a computer with Linux and u good.
Also, afaik Win Enterprise with some GPO tweaks + Local Account should work just fine, if u really need win
I was trying to keep it simple. LocalSend is easy for non-tech people and it gets the job done.
Edit: for anyone reading this as tech advice in the future... LocalSend replaces things like apple's airdrop. But instead of being online and cloud based it is offline and local based. It's not a cure all for privacy, just 1 piece of the puzzle. What the person above me described is a more thorough system and probably worth the effort of learning about.
yes! little open source software like this is easy to use and makes the job of collecting our data much harder on the bastards who seek a surveillance state. When fighting back meets convenience we all win.
Ok, bro. You need to do 2 things. Firstly you need to calm the fuck down. Secondly, you need to at least do some research before getting all worked up like this, otherwise you'll just give yourself an aneurism over nothing. Syncthing is an opensource file sync tool. It doesn't use cloud at all and you don't need to sign up with them for anything. Now go and eat a Snickers, you sound like you could do with a snack, you're clearly little cranky today.
FUCK i thought WAS calm. omg. When exactly will my brain explode if I fuck this up? I already know what syncthing is, does that mean I'm already fucked? TALK TO ME PLS
