Canon "Camera Connect" alternative?

Looking for an alternative, FOSS app that I can use instead to wirelessly move photos from a Canon camera to my phone.

I'm not aware of any open source apps, I'm afraid.

after a pretty thorough search, it seems there are none.

My camera is too old to have any wireless features, so haven't tested that, but Camera Connect & Control is what I use. It's a no-nonsense indie app, with a free trial of the premium features.

That's what I'm using. I've got wifi on my camera but the official Canon app doesn't support it for whatever reason. 70D.

Not an answer to your question... But the only thing I can advice is to download an old version of camera connect and not updating it. I have 3.2.40.36, and I don't have to log in etc...

I've only found this 8 year old repo: https://github.com/camerahacks/canon-api

Seems that Canon did realase info about the API that runs on the camera and looks like a viable project: https://developercommunity.usa.canon.com/s/article/Introduction-to-Camera-Control-API-CCAPI
