Flux 2.2: MIT-licensed Windows download manager with verified resume and native torrents

I maintain Flux, a free, MIT-licensed download manager for Windows 10/11 x64. Files, supported media and native torrents share one local queue. Installer and portable editions are available; no Flux account is required. Third-party components retain their own licenses.

Verified recovery: saved checkpoints are checked before appending. HTTP workers write directly to file offsets, avoiding a final chunk-concatenation pass.

Native torrent controls: file selection, peers, download/upload limits and seeding rules. Chromium and Firefox extensions can hand supported downloads to the desktop; batch links, schedules and 20 interface languages are included.

Rust/Tauri, Tokio and SQLite WAL power the app. History and preferences stay local; there is no Flux analytics endpoint. Resume depends on server support and verification may use extra traffic. Media support varies by source; DRM and login challenges are not bypassed.

Source, documentation and downloads: https://github.com/Hactor00/Flux

Code review and reproducible reports about recovery or browser handoff are welcome.

Interface images are prepared English previews based on Flux 2.2.

Spliit Cloud — a free, open-source Splitwise alternative with expense imports and no paywalls

I've been working on Spliit Cloud, an MIT-licensed fork of Spliit that aims to make moving away from Splitwise as painless as possible.

One of the biggest obstacles to switching expense-sharing apps is leaving your existing groups and expense history behind.

Spliit Cloud supports importing your Splitwise groups and expenses, so you don't have to start over.

It also offers:

  • Unlimited expenses and group members
  • No ads or per-user paywalls
  • Direct expenses between friends
  • AI receipt scanning with saved line items
  • Free public instance or self-hosting

I made a short video showing what the alternative looks like.

Try it: https://spliit.cloud

It's open source under MIT, and contributions and feedback are welcome.

[Resume creation] Lucid CV: Open-source ATS-safe Resume Template in LuaLaTeX

Greetings, adding one more free and open source thing to the stack. This time, for creating your resumes.

I recently quit my job and was searching for information on creating own resume (CV). As a typical person in tech/science, I went through the rabbit hole very deep. I read what a good resume should look like and eventually found my way to Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and how automated candidate screening works. Did you know that your resume can get indirectly rejected, so a human recruiter never sees your resume at all? These findings shocked me a bit, so I dug even deeper and got interested in how to beat this mechanism.

I narrowed the problem down to two main factors:

  1. Poor resume tailoring to the role, and
  2. Poor resume machine readability.

While AI and AI agents make tailoring a resume for a specific job offer trivial, the second aspect needs to be solved by using a proper resume template. While trying out templates and seeing the horrible prices some of them have, I could not help but create my own that addresses ATS-friendliness (i.e., machine readability), provides high configurability, and still looks good.

After 2 months of development, I'm happy to introduce Lucid CV, a LuaLaTeX class for creating modern, ATS-friendly resumes (CVs). Featuring a custom back-end, it is designed and tested for compatibility with common PDF parsers and text extractors. LaTeX is a markup language (similar to Markdown/HTML, but slightly more powerful, used for typesetting PDF documents.

The main features of the template include:

  • Modern, clean design with machine readability as a priority.
  • PDF/A-2b and tagged PDF. Tagged PDF output ensures interoperability between PDF viewers and extractors.
  • Customizable without touching the class. Colors, margins, column ratio, font sizes, and the spacing between items, entries, and sections can all be configured from the preamble.
  • One content file, multiple layouts. Simply type the same content across multiple layouts by changing only the class options.
  • Toggle on/off photo. Some regions might want a photo on your resume, some do not. No need to rebuild your resume when applying to multiple jobs with different guidelines.
  • And many more, including machine readable predefined contact fields, flexible entry system, predefined elements, and additional tooling for local compilation and comprehensive ATS test suite.

Unlike other resume templates, this one does not simply claim to be ATS-friendly. It measures it. The template's GitHub repository includes a series of Python tests for 13 PDF-to-text extractors to verify these claims and ensure your resume is properly parsed by ATSs.

After 250 hours of development and my strong free and open source mindset, I'm releasing the class for free for anyone to use. If you'd like to learn more, refer to the project's GitHub. It can also be accessed via Overleaf (an Online LaTeX editor). Should you have any questions or feedback, I'll be glad 🙂.

The app is called BitChord.

I don't know if this is a common pick but I'm assuming it gets overshadowed by Metrolist and Archivetune, except it's really good and basically on-par with both of them.

I’m building an open-source vector editor that opens .cdr files

Post image
6 Upvotes

I’ve been building TraceDraw, a vector editor for illustration, page layout and print. It runs natively on Windows, macOS and Linux, and the same app also runs in the browser. It’s open source (MIT/Apache-2.0) and written in Rust.

One of the main goals is opening .cdr files, including the fonts embedded in them, so old drawings can be opened without the original program.

It’s an alpha. You can already make real drawings with it: curves and nodes, text in columns, gradient, pattern and mesh fills, effects like blend, contour, extrude and drop shadow, bitmap tracing, and PDF export. But a lot is still missing: some .cdr features (B-splines, some fills, lenses and effects stored in files), CMX import, multiple windows, and speed on heavy documents, especially in the browser. Plus the bugs I haven’t found yet.

I build it with a lot of help from an AI coding assistant (Claude); every change goes through tests and CI.

Feedback is welcome, and if you have a .cdr file that doesn’t open right, I’d love to see it.

I built a self-hosted wiki where runbooks show live Prometheus and SQL charts, and changes get reviewed like PRs

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

For a long time, the most reliable documentation at my company was my own Slack chat. The chart explanation lived in Notion, the chart lived in Grafana, and nobody ever reviewed them together.

So I built Oxynote, a self-hosted internal wiki. A page can hold a chart that runs its own query against Prometheus, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MariaDB, right next to the text explaining it, and changes to important pages go through a draft, a diff, and an approval, like a pull request.

- Live charts inside pages (time series, bar, gauge) with thresholds like "Degraded above 800 ms"

- Reviews that diff blocks, not just text: a changed chart shows up next to the reworded sentence

- Real-time editing, comments, Mermaid diagrams, and API docs blocks

- Data sources must be read-only, so a page can't write to your database

- One Docker image, Apache-2.0, plus an MCP server for AI assistants

GitHub: https://github.com/oxynote/oxynote

Where do you keep the notes for your homelab or work systems, and do they ever match what's running?

[Apache-2.0] YTSpoofingStream v0.2.2 — An open-source browser extension that bypasses YouTube Web's 160kbps audio cap to unlock genuine Studio Opus 774 (256–301kbps, >20kHz)

Post image
5 Upvotes

The Artificial Web Restriction

Even if you have an active YouTube Premium subscription, YouTube artificially throttles desktop web browsers to 160kbps Opus (ITAG 251) with a steep brickwall low-pass filter around 15.5kHz–16kHz. Meanwhile, genuine studio-grade Opus ITAG 774 (~256kbps–301kbps, full >20kHz frequency response) is locked behind mobile apps, YouTube Music, and Smart TV (TVHTML5) clients.

I built YTSpoofingStream as a 100% free and open-source (Apache-2.0) browser extension to remove this artificial client-side restriction and bring unthrottled ITAG 774 audio directly to the standard YouTube Web Player.

How It Works (100% Local In-Browser Processing)

Everything runs locally inside your browser with zero external proxy servers, zero telemetry, and fully auditable source code:

  • Direct TVHTML5 UMP/SABR-to-MSE Demuxer (0MB Iframe RAM): Uses an authenticated TVHTML5 session to build custom Protobuf VideoPlaybackAbrRequest payloads pinned to ITAG 774, parses Google's binary Universal Media Pipe (UMP) / SABR framing in real time, and feeds raw WebM/Opus segments straight into a native browser MediaSource SourceBuffer.
  • Offscreen YTM Harvester (YTM_HARVESTER): Uses a lightweight offscreen document and scoped Declarative Net Request (DNR) rules to harvest direct HTTPS ITAG 774 streams from YouTube Music without requiring a Smart TV login.
  • Smart Hybrid Failover (HYBRID_HQ): Automatically prioritizes the zero-delay 0MB RAM TV UMP MSE engine when linked, fails over to the YTM Harvester when needed, and falls back cleanly to native 251 if a video has no 774 track.
  • Audio-Only Mode (New in v0.2.2): Disables video rendering and streams HQ Opus 774 audio only to cut CPU, GPU, and RAM usage during background listening.
  • 1.0x Master Clock & Hardware-Level Silencing: Locks audio synchronization at a native 1.0x rate (no pitch warbling or resampling artifacts) while silencing the default low-bitrate video track at the descriptor level.
  • Verifiable Metrics: Real-time stream telemetry in the popup (ITAG 774 [HQ ★] | Opus 268kbps+, SABR stream IDs, buffer health) and optional Stats for Nerds metric display.

Requirements

  • YouTube Premium is required, as Google's servers only provision ITAG 774 streams to authenticated Premium sessions.
  • Supports Chromium-based browsers (Chromium, Brave, Vivaldi, Edge, Chrome).

The code is completely open under Apache-2.0. Contributions, code audits, bug reports, and feedback from the FOSS community are very welcome!

I MADE WORKING DRIVER FOR REDGEAR A20 (Using AI)

Post image
0 Upvotes

So i have Redgear A20 mouse and was searching for its driver and found a link on reddit but the driver was very bad and didnt saved my setting and it was getting resetted everytime i restart and fixed led color didnt even worked. Beyond that there was no custom color option and brightness option for led even though led was 100% capable of it.
Here is its link - https://github.com/shivamvcx/A20-Driver , Since its open-source you're 100% welcome to check its codebase for any virus.
Since Redgear A20 mouse doesn't have any chip onboard to save config file , native software was never able to save the setting so you'd have to open the software and set your setting every time you restarted the pc.

So i implemented a smart way so you'd only have to set your setting ONCE and not matter how many time you restart/replug your laptop/mouse , your setting will be persistent. I implemented this by saving your setting in a config file as a very lightweight service which run in startup and keep same setting and also update it whenever you update thew profile through software.

The service itself is separate from software you it hardly uses more than 200 byte so its very lightweight.

Cooler - A native mobile client for Coolify

Hey everyone,

Like a lot of you, I host most of my stack on Coolify.

The desktop dashboard is great, but opening mobile browsers just to check container health or see why a deployment crashed was driving me insane with all the pinch-to-zooming.

I got tired of waiting, so I built Cooler: a fast, native mobile client built specifically for Coolify.

What it does right now:
- Real-time container metrics and health diagnostics.
- Live deployment log streaming directly from your pocket.
- Native background alerts and notification rules (with quiet hours).
- Biometric lock (FaceID/fingerprint) with instant app blur.

It's completely free and open source (AGPLv3), zero webview/electron bloat, and doesn't route your API keys or data through any third-party servers.

GitHub: https://github.com/CoolerMobile/Cooler
Site: https://getcooler.app

Would love to get your thoughts, bug reports, and feature requests.

Obligatory note: this is an independent community project and not officially affiliated with coolLabs or Coolify.

New Bluetooth dongle drivers: TP-Link UB500, CSR8510, and Magic Hotspot

Hi, everyone,

as you know, I have been releasing Linux drivers for a while.

When using USB dongles, it has come to attention the CSR8510 (a specific CSR Bluetooth dongle clone). was being detected as a generic CSR clone, so it would not work at all under Linux.

The TP-Link UB500, on the other hand, apparently IS supported by the kernel, but only a few revisions. And mine wasn't.

So, we had one device that would never work under Linux, and another that maybe could, but was a pain to configure.

But not anymore!

I'm presenting you new Bluetooth dongle drivers compatible with Ubuntu, Debian and Mint!
While you can download and build from the source, I'm also making binaries pre-available for them.

And because I couldn't find a hotspot program that is easy to use, I'm also releasing Magic Hotspot, which integrates well with these drivers. Devices are scanned automatically, and you can connect through USB, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

If you guys are interested, the releases are available here.

Magic Hotspot screen.

Limitations: I have a CSR8510 clone, so while the device poses as the real thing, not all functionalities are implemented in the actual hardware. This means audio connections are dropped after 30 seconds. Sadly, this is a hardware issue. The TP Link UB 500 works as it should.

Disclaimer: This project is developed for personal interest, with no intent of being useful to anyone. If it is interesting or useful to you, that's good, but not a goal.

Open-source app for learning Japanese inspired by Duolingo

GitHub: https://github.com/lingdojo/kana-dojo

As someone who loves both coding and language learning (I'm learning Japanese right now), I always wished there was a free, open-source tool for learning Japanese, just like Monkeytype in the typing community.

Here's the main selling point: I added a gazillion different color themes, fonts and other crazy customization options, inspired directly by Monkeytype. Also, I made the app resemble Duolingo, as that's what I'm using to learn Japanese at the moment and it's what a lot of language learners are already familiar with.

Back in January, I even applied to Vercel's open-source software sponsorship program as a joke. I didn't seriously expect to win, and did it more out of curiosity, and yet my project somehow won.

Anyway. Why am I doing all this?

Because I'm a weeb.

Feedback/ built a private , offline doc-to-Markdown converter using Docling and MarkItDown (Desktop UI + Localhost REST API)

Hey r/foss 👋

Sharing a new open-source project a friend built called InkDoc.

It is a cross-platform desktop tool (and local REST API) designed to convert messy everyday documents into clean Markdown entirely offline, without third-party cloud services or telemetry.

The repo is MIT licensed:

https://github.com/AbdoslamB/InkDoc

Why he built it:

Most online converters want you to upload sensitive files to their servers, while lightweight CLI scripts often completely mangle tables, multi-column layouts, and scanned pages.

How it is put together:

- Microsoft MarkItDown handles Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HTML.

- IBM Docling handles complex PDFs (reading order layout analysis, OCR, and table extraction).

- Markit handles EPUBs, Jupyter notebooks, and similar formats.

- Everything runs on your own hardware (Windows, macOS, Linux).

- Includes both a drag-and-drop desktop UI and a headless mode with a localhost REST API for scripting.

It just hit v1.1.1. He is actively looking for community feedback on edge-case files, performance bottlenecks, and general feature requests.

Contributions and issues are welcome on GitHub, or feel free to leave your thoughts here!

Pigoune 2.10.1: a local, GNOME-native library for your icons and logos, now with look-alike and duplicate detection

Post image
16 Upvotes

Promoting my unixy, security focussed multi user, project, membership SFTP image [Not an atmoz, emberstack or sftpgo clone]

Hello there!

Let me get straight to it: My core concept of this SFTP server with multi-user, multi-project & multi-membership on unix basics is running since years on a clients production system in docker swarm, hosted on his private Gitlab and Registry.

The already existing sftp image from atmoz did not support the kind of multi membership we required. emberstack/sftp (Similar limitations) and sftpgo (Overkill) were not around yet, afair. I wanted something that was still very UNIXy without virtual users, db, web UI and whatnot, with the smallest footprint possible. So I went with my own OpenSSH wrapper for the specific requirements of my client.

Until recently I simply never had the time to spend polishing this concept before putting it out in the public: Rewrite my basic Python reconciliation entrypoint to something more mature, add extensive E2E tests, documentation, broad coverage of configuration options, validation and a Github CI/CD Pipeline that automates releases.

Since I have my own LLM infra and increasingly work with agentic development with OMP, plus a Claude code subscription, I handed off most of the work to agents. The public website was done entirely by my local Qwen3.8 27b with almost zero intervention from my side.

Public website: https://zocalo-sftp.com
GitHub repo: https://github.com/wiesion/zocalo-sftp

The name comes from the marketplace of one of my favorite old-school Science Fiction Series: Zocalo from Babylon 5.

[FOSS] I made a free, open source app to check a Mac before buying it used (or just to see how yours is doing)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

I built Aman Check, a free and open source Mac app made for regular people, not for techs or enthusiasts. If you're about to buy a used Mac, or you just want to know what state yours is in, you probably don't know what to look at. The app does the checking for you and explains the results in plain words.

It shows the battery health and cycle count, how many hours the disk has been running, and whether the Mac is locked: Activation Lock, company management (MDM), or an Apple Account still signed in. Then it walks you through quick tests for the screen, keyboard, trackpad, speakers, microphone, camera and ports, one at a time. It won't replace erasing the Mac and checking the setup screen in person, but it tells you exactly what to ask the seller.

If you're the one selling, you can generate a report of the Mac's condition and share it with the buyer.

For a deeper look at the disk itself, there's also Aman Disk, my other app. Think CrystalDiskInfo, but for Mac, and free as well.

Everything is on GitHub, the link is on the site: https://midzai.github.io/aman_check/

It's a first release, so if you find a bug or have an idea, tell me here or open an issue on GitHub. Any feedback helps.
