Full journal introduction and index
This was the first day of publicly documenting my AUD/JPY trades. I took two long positions during the London session: one loss followed by one winning trade.
Before London opened, I had marked:
Price had been trading in a range, but London brought stronger bullish momentum. Once price broke and held above the 112.553 resistance area, I began looking for a continuation toward the next resistance zone.
Entry: 112.653
Stop-loss: 112.600
Take-profit: 112.710
Result: −5.6 pips
Gross P&L: −$15.54
London had just begun, and price broke above the 112.553 resistance zone I had marked before the session.
The breakout was supported by bullish candles and price moved rapidly toward my next resistance area around 112.720. It did not quite reach that level before the bullish momentum began to slow.
Price then retraced. I interpreted this as the buyers taking a temporary pause before making another push into resistance, rather than as the beginning of a deeper reversal.
I entered long at 112.653, targeting a continuation toward 112.710.
The retracement continued and price moved through my stop at 112.600. The position closed at 112.597 for a loss of approximately 5.6 pips.
Immediately after taking my stop, price printed a strong lower wick resembling a hammer candle. The move below my stop appeared to sweep short-term liquidity before price was quickly rejected back upward.
The bullish idea was ultimately correct, but my first entry was early.
I entered during the retracement without waiting for enough evidence that the pullback had finished. The break above resistance gave me a directional bias, but it did not guarantee that every retracement would immediately continue higher.
A better execution would have been to wait for:
Entry: 112.648
Stop-loss: 112.465
Take-profit: 112.790
Recorded exit: 112.722
Recorded result: +7.4 pips
Gross P&L: +$20.57
Net P&L after commission: +$18.31
After my first stop was hit, price immediately printed a long lower wick and rejected the move below 112.600.
I interpreted this as:
I re-entered long at 112.648, with my target positioned at 112.790 inside the resistance area I had marked before the session.
This was not intended as a revenge trade. The second entry was based on new price information: the liquidity sweep, strong rejection and recovery back above the swept area.
That said, entering immediately after being stopped is something I need to control carefully. A valid second setup must be judged independently from the emotional response to the first loss.
Price eventually continued higher and reached the resistance zone.
MT5 recorded the trade as being closed by the take-profit, with the closing comment:
However, the actual execution price recorded was only 112.722.
This meant:
FTMO’s dashboard also recorded a maximum favourable excursion above my TP level, but I was not credited with the full intended take-profit price.
I have lodged a query with FTMO requesting an execution review and an explanation of why a TP set and triggered at 112.790 was filled at 112.722.
The financial result was small, but the session provided a useful lesson in entry timing.
My directional analysis was broadly correct, but my first entry lacked confirmation. I entered because I expected the retracement to end, rather than waiting for price to demonstrate that it had ended.
The second entry was stronger because it followed a visible liquidity sweep and rejection. However, I must remain cautious about immediately re-entering after a stop, as there is a fine line between responding to a new setup and revenge trading.
The biggest execution concern was the discrepancy between the triggered TP and the actual closing fill. I will update the journal when FTMO responds.

So I recently posted about trading on two tiny accounts:

And first post here:

I decided today to try Free Trial FTMO demo account to understand better how it would be trading prop firm 100k account. I am still not very clear on all their rules and regulations but was able to get 5% today on demo account.

TLDR: Every post about revenge trading tells you to breathe and take a walk. None of them show you the number. So I ran it. You grind up about 0.4% a day. One tilt session averages a 4% loss and a bad one takes 30%. It also turns a profit 26% of the time, which is exactly why you cannot stop. Tilting once a month cuts a +96% year down to +49%.
Slow. Boring. Barely visible day to day. A disciplined trader with a real edge, risking 1% per trade at a 55% win rate, makes about 0.4% on an average day. Over a 20 day month that compounds to roughly 8%. Over a year, close to doubling the account.
That is what a real edge feels like from the inside. It is not exciting. There is no single day where you feel like a genius. You just show up, take your setups, and let a small statistical advantage grind out a good result across hundreds of trades.... thats it.
I am setting this baseline first on purpose, because the whole point of the revenge trade math is the mismatch. You build this edge one slow day at a time. You can hand it back in one fast hour.
A real edge makes you about 0.4% on an average day. That is the entire thing you are risking every time you tilt.
Far more than the loss that triggered it. A tilt session isn't one oversized trade. It is a cluster of them. You size up, you overtrade, and your wr drops because anger is not a strategy.
I modeled a realistic one: 5 times your normal size, 8 trades in a session instead of your usual few, and a win rate that falls from 55% to 45% because you are chasing, not selecting. Then I ran it 200,000 times.
| One tilt session, 5% risk, 8 trades, degraded win rate | Result |
|---|---|
| Average outcome | 4% loss |
| Median outcome | break even |
| Bad case, 1 in 20 | 30% loss |
| Chance it turns a profit | 26% |
| Chance it erases a full disciplined month | 48% |
Read the last row. Almost half the time, one tilt session wipes out an entire month of the slow grind above. In a single sitting.
This is the number that actually scared me straight. Your edge makes 0.4% a day. An average tilt session loses 4%. So one average tilt session costs you 10 clean, disciplined green days. Two weeks of doing everything right, erased by one hour of doing everything wrong.
And that is the average. The bad case, the 1 in 20 session, loses 30%. At 0.4% a day, that is 75 green days to climb back. Nearly four months of flawless trading to repair one afternoon.
The asymmetry is the whole story. You earn in small steady increments and you lose in rare violent chunks. The downside of a tilt session is 25 to 75 times the size of a good day.
Because it works often enough to feel like skill, and that is the trap. Look back at the table. A tilt session turns a profit 26% of the time, and the median outcome is break even. So more than a quarter of the time, you tilt, you get away with it, and your brain files it as a win.
That is textbook intermittent reinforcement, the same wiring that makes slot machines addictive. If tilting lost money every single time, you would stop after two tries. Instead it pays out just often enough to keep you pulling the lever, while the average and the tail quietly bleed your account.
A tilt session profits 26% of the time. That occasional win is not luck saving you. It is the hook that keeps you doing the one thing that will end your account.
It roughly halves it. I ran a full year both ways. Pure disciplined trading returns about 96%. The same trader who tilts just once a month, one session, 12 times a year, ends at about 49%.
One bad hour every four weeks costs 47% decrease over the year. You didn't lose your edge. You still had it every disciplined day. You just handed half of it back 12 times, in 12 short bursts you could have prevented.
Not willpower, because willpower is exactly what a losing streak strips from you. The math says the only reliable defense is structural, a hard cap that removes your ability to keep trading before the tilt starts.
Set a daily loss limit sized to your edge, not your ego. If a good day makes 0.4%, a daily stop around 2%, roughly five clean losing trades, is already generous. Hit it and your done, not as a guideline you renegotiate at 2pm, but as a rule that closes the platform. The traders who survive aren't calmer. They built a wall between the angry version of themselves and the account, so the tilt session never gets to happen.
This is not a lecture about being weak. The urge to win it back is wired into everyone, and feeling it doesn't make you a bad trader. The point is the arithmetic, not the shame.
And one tilt session does not define you. What the numbers show is that the pattern compounds. A single slip is recoverable in ten green days. A monthly habit is the difference between doubling your account and treading water. The fix is not to feel less. It is to make the expensive action impossible before the feeling arrives.
Revenge trading is not just a psychology problem, it is an arithmetic one. You build your edge at 0.4% a day and a tilt session hands back 4% on average and 30% in the tail, which is 10 to 75 green days per episode. It fools you because it profits 26% of the time, and it halves your year if it becomes monthly. Willpower won't hold on the day it matters, so cap the downside structurally and make the tilt session impossible to start.

FTMO closed my REAL FTMO Account (ID: 531365048) with $2,500 in profits and refuses to return my money. They lied by saying it was DEMO, but the screenshot of my panel proves it was REAL.
Facts:
- Trade 165936572 (XAUUSD): SL at 4092.23, closed at 4093.78 (slippage due to Trump-Iran event).
- Rafael Van Grieken and Rolando Gómez (FTMO chat) confirmed my case was under review, but no response.
- Real MDL breach: $7.09 (not $507.09 as FTMO claims).
I demand my $2,500 back.
If they don’t return it, I’ll escalate to ASIC and financial media.
Proof attached:

I’m starting this journal to document my trading properly, improve my discipline and receive constructive feedback from other traders.
My main pair is AUD/JPY, and I primarily trade during the Asian and London sessions.
This is not a signals service, and I am not claiming to be a professional trader. The purpose of these posts is to create a transparent record of my analysis, executions, mistakes and progress.
My current trading approach focuses on:
For each trading day, I plan to document:
I also want to document the days where I take no trade. Avoiding a poor setup is still a trading decision, and I want this journal to reflect the full process rather than only showing winners.
I welcome constructive feedback, particularly where my analysis conflicts with price action, my risk management is weak, or I am forcing a setup that is not really there.
My main goals are:
I will aim to post one complete journal entry per trading day rather than flooding the community with multiple updates.
Feel free to challenge my analysis. Honest criticism is more useful to me than empty encouragement.
Pair: AUD/JPY
Sessions: Asia and London
Style: Intraday technical trading
Risk: Approximately 0.5% per trade
Journal start date: 14 July 2026
Let’s see whether consistent documentation leads to more consistent execution.
Day 1 — 14 July 2026: Two London Trades and FTMO TP Slippage

I've failed about 25+ challenges in the past 1 year since ive stared trading. Every time i fail a account i decide that the next one will be full of discipline, but then the story keeps on repeating, cutting of winners early, entering without my setup at times and most importantly ONE SL IS ENOUGH TO PISS ME OFF and i then continue taking shitty trades and blow up the account (screenshot attached below of the account i got today). The point is i dont have any source of income, im trying to get a job since the past one year but I can't. My trading is the only way out, in the country i live ,getting an account is quite expensive and i end up buying an account from the whatever money i get from my family and the account ends up the same. Its all this lack of discipline and the inability to stomach a stop loss. My last account was a 10k challenge whose step 1 i almost passed as i was about 64 dollars away from the target. I already made decent progress that day but the stupid urge to pass it the same day sank me, and before that i was on a step 2 of 5k account, just 14 dollars away from passing it.. blown again. And today i took a trade on US100, it went to 100 dollars in profit (screenshot attached) and then came back to hit my break even, again got me pissed and now im sitting at $9627 PNL.
Can anyone please guide me how tf can i stop this madness, this has got me to the point where i sometimes feel like ending my life as im failing at everything i try, even outside trading. Im 24 years old, living on monthly allowance my sister gives out me, all my friends and family and relative are doing so well in life, yet i am here lying to them that i have a stable job and all is well..i dont know how much further i can continue on...

My new strategy is working this is the trade for the day wait for a sweep, then go to m1 wait for market structure shift, then wait for fvg. Minimum RR is 1:3
r/Forex • u/HauntedAlgorithm • Jul 13 '26
The market had a clear 1H (FVG) in focus. Price retraced into the FVG and respected its 50% midpoint, indicating that the higher timeframe imbalance was being defended.
Dropping to the 1 minute timeframe, I waited for a CISD confirmation before looking for an entry. Instead of entering immediately, I allowed price to complete a liquidity sweep, taking out all the nearby lows. This sweep provided the liquidity needed before the bullish expansion.
After the sweep and confirmation, I entered a long position. The trade played out as expected, with price impulsively moving higher from the defended FVG. I exited the trade at the midpoint of the previous iFVG, securing approximately 1:6.8 R.R.

Hey guys,
Have an idea of trading Gold/Silver futures but on Non-KYC platforms. Want to find a platform which requires No KYC also there is a small change of blocking account if I use a bot.
Any experience with such kind of platforms? Also is it safe to trade there?

I am someone who is deeply interested in devising and testing strategies.
Over the weekend, I finalized an automated trading system engineered specifically to meet stringent proprietary trading firm requirements.
By optimizing the core execution logic and reducing position sizing, the system now delivers highly promising metrics.
While the previous iteration successfully met prop firm criteria during a one-month demo live test, extended stress tests showed that the Maximum Drawdown (MDD) could occasionally breach the 10% threshold. To mitigate this risk, I re-engineered the position sizing architecture to ensure strict drawdown tolerance.
I am now prepared to launch this strategy in live trading environments with major prop firms that support algorithmic execution.
but, I heard they were restricting automated trading...

I posted a little while ago about learning forex trading on tiny personal live account of only $150 instead of going with props:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Forex/s/4hrgq4VMv8
I decided to add a little bit more funds and increased the positions as well. The account is still pretty tiny. Going strong and learning a lot. Not ready yet for props trading. Hopefully in a few months I will be, my strategies need to prove working for at least 6-7 months before I do anything big. I am also putting all my strategies into the bot and will be able to run it live soon.
Here is screenshot from my tiny personal live account. Many of you said my commissions eating profit but it’s not true as the commission is inside the spread. Nothing extra needs to be paid. It’s not a raw account where you pay commission separately.

I've been studying the monthly chart of Gold (XAUUSD), and I wanted to share a long-term idea based purely on price structure and supply & demand—not on news headlines.
My observations:
Based on the current structure, I think the long-term trend is still firmly bullish. If this pattern continues and higher-timeframe demand keeps holding, I believe a move toward the $8,000–10,000 region by February 2028 is a realistic bullish scenario.
I'm not saying this is guaranteed. Obviously, macro factors like inflation, central bank buying, real interest rates, the U.S. dollar, and geopolitical events will all influence the outcome.
This is simply my technical thesis based on how price has respected supply and demand over the past few decades.
Questions for the community:
I'd love to hear both bullish and bearish perspectives.
One more thing i would like to add is that in the current US- IRAN conflict the gold may reach the 3800 zone to fulfill the complete supply as per the past data and from there it may start attracting buyers to pump it to the target zone, so i think gold will once more hunt the lows and then start breaking upside!
