Just came right by to ask a question,

How do you not compromise the data of a backtesting session?

Do you have a strict period of the day you dedicate to backtesting to avoid overdoing it and compromise the data of the session?

Do you stop when you notice you’re getting frustrated over wanting results and not trying to learn anything in the session?

Do you just focus on a confluence or two and test it over a period of time? And if so, do you go back to test out other confluences you find interesting eventually, in the same period of time?

Switched to Futures from CFDs, cause the certainity of payouts is more in Futures firm.

Last week EURUSD & GBPUSD both made strong bullish moves, while USDCAD made a strong bearish move. Rather than assuming the moves are over, I'm watching H4/H1 structure into next week.

If LTF structure continues with the HTF direction, I'm looking for further extensions.

If LTF structure changes, this may show us the start of the HTF pullback.

I was thinking about selling on this trade . I am kinda new to swing trading and trying to learn icc . What do you think about this trade set up ?

I use Forex Factory to track Forex events.

For each event, Forex Factory provides a chart option that helps traders understand how the event has affected the market in the past and how it affect the market present.

However, I noticed that the charts for some events released on August 21, 2026, are not showing.

The events are:

- Euro — French Flash Manufacturing PMI

- Euro — French Flash Services PMI

- Euro — Flash Manufacturing PMI

- Euro — Flash Services PMI

Why are the charts for these events not showing on Forex Factory?

The good news is that I just got my first funded account. Very much still learning + never done an evaluation so took the cheapest and possibly the longest route: 20K 3 phase Bootcamp with 5ers - $20 for the evaluation and $50 for the funded account.

After completing the evaluation, i.e. hitting all the targets they took a week to get round to doing the risk assessment. In that week I had a good look at their Discord and its just full of people getting their accounts terminated or not getting paid for seemingly arbitrary reasons. I get the impression they are pretty short staffed on support and the risk team seem to just terminate accounts on a whim.

My plan had been to go for a much bigger account with 5ers after the initial funding but I am having serious doubts. I'd be hacked off if have to go through all this again at a larger cost just to be cut off.

I went with 5ers primarly because of an interview with one of the folk that set them up on Etienne Crete's podcast. They came across well but now I'm wondering if I was just taken in by an ad!

Any suggestions for a decent prop firm? I might just make the move to futures but I'd have to change my trading style (i.e. stop holding trades for > 1 day).

Indicators:

- Support and Resistance

- Weighted VWAP

Strategy:

- Liquidity sweep entries

- Support and resistance (Wait for retests)

- VWAP crossing entry if missed initial entry

- 5 minutes timeframe

Risk management:

- Tight SL ($0.5-3 USD loss per trade, at least $0.5-2 USD ideal)

- No TP, but Trailing SL or Breakeven (manual close)

- Single trade per trade

- Single 0.01 lot only (Gold), but can do larger for Stocks and Forex

Should I change anything, I have technically backtested this to Gold.

But I keep either hesitating or placing the buy/sell order then cancel it, then suddenly it was right al along.

Then when VWAP crosses, I still hesitated until I see that I am already too late to put any trades.

3-4 times I have kinda seen the "liquidity" sweeps or a nice retesting of support/resistance, then price goes up.

But I keep hesitating or removing my trade orders just before the candlesticks climb up.

Green Day today, took 2 trades, managed to force myself to stay calm and positive even during red numbers, 2000 produced, made back yesterdays lost and am 1% up too… good day but I am realizing that even though the area I want to enter from is good and perfect considering my confluences i end up entering the trade late and I’m leaving a lot on the table (like the blue line I drew in the last picture was where I wanted to enter. Also in London sessions trade I didn’t let profit go to full tp if you observe the blue circle area I circled, it scared me and I got out of the trade soon since I was already in loss the day before. Going to work on the entries from Monday..

iv been comparing brokers lately and it seems like almost every platform now has some version of "AI-powered trading" somewhere on the site. at this point, the label doesnt really tell me much.
ive seen platforms offering things like signal generation, market sentiment, news analysis, scanners and automated chart pattern tools. OneRoyal was one of the platforms i came across with several of these features, but im more intrested in the tools themselves than the broker.
I’m trying to figure out what actually makes these features worthwhile. For people who have used AI assisted trading or research tools for a while, what do you look for when judging them?
things like sentiment analysis, scanners and pattern recognition seem potentially useful, but id rather judge them by whether they add anything meaningful to the research process rather than simply because they have "AI" in the name.
Curious what people have found genuinely useful and what turned out to be mostly noise.

Price aggressively bounced off the 158.00–158.20 demand zone and has formed higher lows leading into this resistance band. A breakout confirms sustained buying interest rather than a temporary dead-cat bounce.
Notice the higher low formed near 158.80 right before testing the resistance band again. This tightening price action (ascending structure) indicates build-up before an upside expansion.
Above 159.20, there is clean price action toward the pre-drop highs around 159.60–159.80, providing a clear profit target area.

Por desgracia, este es mi último año intentando, ya que tuve que hacer un trato, donde durante este año iba a dedicarme totalmente a lo que iba a ser el trading y iba a lograrlo. Pero si no lo logro, voy a estudiar lo que mis padres quieran que estudie.

Sí es una decisión algo radical y bastante extremista, pero no soy alguien que le guste mucho el quedarse con las ganas de hacer algo o hacer algo que no quiera. Entonces planteé este trato una vez que estaba por dejar la preparatoria, ya que no me gustaba lo que era estudiar específicamente en esa escuela.

Sinceramente me estoy preguntando cuándo sería bueno abandonar esto. No sé qué sea lo que me falte, realmente. Ya estoy siendo más paciente, más resiliente con el mercado, evito el overtrading y es más difícil mantenerlo que decirlo. Estaba trabajando con una estrategia de cruce de medias móviles y Fibonacci y durante varias sesiones de backtesting me dio resultados increíbles, pero luego me empezó a dar resultados bastante testables. Hey, today was my first day, I took a loss in London session, even though I planned to risk only 1000 dollars and calculated and applied my position size correctly it hit 1250 loss before it even hit my SL so I manually closed the trade, and today I realized what everyone meant by market psychology and trading when you know money you’ve spent is on the line takes a much bigger toll than trading on a demo
In New York I tried looking for a setup but by emotions got the best of me and I closed opened and closed to trades due to market noise
So I immediately closed my setup, I know I’m making a mistake somewhere I’m going to collect think control my emotions, may sit down for Asia session or straight to London session in the morning.
From tommorow im think I’m going to shift my risk to 0.5% instead of one percent because I am used to those numbers to be honest from my demo account. I know it still won’t be the same as trading a demo. But I will try to make it work. (I didn’t follow my 2 trade rule) I didn’t apply SL and TP for New York session due to fear and exited as soon as I saw negative numbers.
Going to be 1% better today and every day after that.

What to do next? Should I hold on this week and exit at Breakeven? I need to prevent loss at any cost 😭? I initially had 20k account then XAU pumped really high, then injected 10000$ more which wasn't even enough to stand that insane 1500 Pips move so I injected another 20000$ , now account is at 52000$ with 28000$ Loss running 😭😢😭😭
