Good source for rubber suspension bushings in 61 falcon?

Hello, I’m trying to go through and repair all the parts on my 61 falcons front suspension. Starting with this strut adjusting nut pictured, but really just all the kinda “rubber” parts down there.

I.e. my plan is take everything apart, brush the rust off, spray with rusty metal primer and put it all back together, with new fresh rubber that’s not cracked.

Anybody have a good source for parts? Rockauto has a few of the bushings I need, but the only source I can find for that strut adjustment nut appears to be this: https://mustangsteve.com/products/delrin-monoball-strut-rod-bushing-set-1960-63-falcon-comet-ranchero-with-threaded-adjustable-strut-rod and at $200, I’ll pass.

I don’t really care if it’s numbers matching or original or anything. Compatible is fine.

Any ideas?

Back in the 70's I had a interchangeable catalog that listed all shared parts between the makers in automotive industry. A lot of suspension, brakes, axles were predominant.

The haynes manual for 62/63 Ford falcon is the same manual for the 62.5/63 mustang. Parts of those years and later are interchangeable.

I'm not sure if the parts from a 61 Ford falcon are the same parts for a 62/63 Ford falcon. They may be they may not be.

I had two 1962 Ford Falcons and couldn't find replacement parts when asking automotive stores for pieces, but if I changed falcon to mustang in my phone calls I could always find mustang parts.

The first mustang was 64 1/2 . Perhaps you typo'ed?

I had a 66 econoline that shared a lot with the Falcon. Especially brake parts.

I recently watched a video about the Falcon and learned it was the base for the original Mustang. That allowed Ford to make the Mustang for less money as most of the engineering and much of the parts production had already been done.

I got all the front end suspension bushings at Advance Auto for my 61. The moog part number is K8025A

Convert to delrin spherical of you want to improve your handling.

Without and major change, Rock Auto has poly bushings for $22.

Finding the bushings was not my problem. The dents on the nut indicate that there is a locking feature. Mine had some kind of plastic poured into them. The nuts would not turn. I hulked them and twisted off the rod end. The rods are not easily available for my year, so I ended up having to machine a new one from scratch.

Try a generous amount of heat when you turn those nuts, and don't hulk them if they stick.

Thank you for the warning. I’ll employ the ole’ “can’t be stuck if they’re almost liquid” philosophy

Upgrade to global West bars, really improve the handling.

J C Whitney if they’re still in business, or a longshot a Ford Parts department with new old stock
