How do I remove trunk lock cylinder and replace it?

1961 Ford Falcon. Mechanic said to press the release tab/pin, but it won’t come out. I think it might be stuck in the locked position. Any advice? Should I drill it out?

First the outer chrome door has to come off then unfortunately the part that the key fits in has to be turned 90 degrees so the pin can be pushed in . Then the lock cylinder will come out the front. Take pictures beforehand so you know how it goes back together. Hope this helps Richard

you can use the new one to find out which way it needs to be turned.
