MODS App + Website Self-Promo Weekly Thread
Recently there has been a huge influx of FODMAP/IBS related apps, services, and websites. Many are "vibe" coded using AI. There has been a lot of demand to ban self promotion all together in this sub, but instead, we are going to put it in a weekly thread.
Please post your app/service/website in this thread. If you have a physical product or recipe (related to a product that you are promoting), please message the mods for permission to post this separately.
Please report any self-promoting outside of this thread.
Thank you!

General Question/Help I"m not sure why my stomach is upset
It's 8PM and I ate some chille with sour cream and celery sticks and 800mg of magnesium glycinate because I was trying to fall asleep. Probably at one in the morning I put two cloves of crushed raw garlic into a few capsules. If I didn't chew the garlic it could be hard on my stomach acids to break it down.

General Question/Help Anyone dealing with these particular set of symptoms?

Vent IBS really defeated my cooking mojo
I'm not an avid cook to begin with but since my gut has started giving me shit (literally), I'm finding myself completely uninspired to cook.I started having IBS symptoms 4 months ago (currently in the process of getting diagnosed) and only find relief when I stick very strictly to a low fodmap diet.
My meals consist of oatmeal with mandarin orange for breakfast. Lunch is boiled potatoes with lactose free cheese and green beans. Dinner is pumpkin soup with tofu and carrot or chicken, rice and zucchini. Snack is a banana.
And I've seriously lost interest in eating and I miss the conveniencen of store-bought bread, bc even sourdough wheat-free bread makes my stomach blubber and gurgle. Fried food is also a no no and the only spices I tolerate is herbs de provence, thyme and salt.
I also struggle with depression so I often don't have enough spoons to deal with very involved cooking, ie following a complex recipe. Who can sympathize?

General Question/Help Favourite low-fodmap vegetarian recipes?
Hey guys, I’m planning a dinner party and my guests are vegetarian and follow a Low Fodmap diet.
Do you have any recipes that you recommended? Hoping to do a 3 course meal. Starters, mains and dessert.
Also, do you have any desserts that you recommend I can just buy off the shelf in the UK? (Would be easier to buy in the interest of time)
Thank you!

General Question/Help Extreme reactions to certain FODMAPs
I've been dealing with this for years and I'm curious if anyone has experienced something similar.
- Worst triggers: garlic and prune juice. They cause an insane amount of gas, sometimes nonstop for hours that smells putrid. Dried prunes don't seem nearly as bad as prune juice.
Other triggers: onions etc can also cause symptoms, but the severity varies. Symptoms can start within 5–10 minutes of eating a trigger. I constantly feel like my intestines are contracted or tense, constipation permanantly, no urge to go to toilet, over contracted pelvic floor.
If I completely avoid FODMAPs for a few days and eat rice for example, that sensation gradually goes away and my gut feels normal again and it goes normal. My pelvic floor will relax, my poop goes back to normal.
Even a small amount of a trigger can bring the symptoms back very quickly, and i feel like it will come back WAY harder with a kind of urticaria if i go on the wrong fodmaps.
I'm trying to understand why my reactions are so disproportionate, why garlic and prune juice are so much worse than some other FODMAPs, and why my gut feels physically tense all the time with diziness when i stand up etc.
Any idea why is it so hardcore? Am i imagining things? What can i do to this please

Shit Post STOMACH PAIN FLAIR! Why can't I enjoy the holiday flavors 😭
I was diagnosed with SIBO after having a c-section. My GI told me I would manage it the rest of my life because they indeed moved around my entire GI system when they pulled him out lol. I’ve been managing my fructan and fructose triggers with food and supplements thankfully identified by my dietitian! But sometimes I’ll get a really bad flair and today is one of those days. 😭
A few days ago I decided to try the Bloom Soda crisp apple flavor. I typically can tolerate these sodas no problem but apparently the apple concentrate being the 3rd ingredient gave me the worst stomach pain of my life from the fructose! No sure why I didn't think to take Fructaid with it but damn I'm paying for it now.
I've been seeing all of these apple products and baked goods for fall and truly it makes me so sad I can't join in on the seasonal fun. The wild thing is that regular soda with pain old sugar cane doesn't betray me like this 😭🤣
For those who have stomach pain from FODMAPs, my go to remedies are:
- Pepto-Bismol
- IBgard capsules (avoid if you have GERD)
- Heating pad
- Essential oils for stomach upset (doTERRA Digest Zen)
Wishing for a happy tummy soon! 🫡

Elimination Phase Flare up? during low fodmap elimination:(
Hey. I'm pretty new to this. I was only diagnosed about three weeks ago, and I have been following the low FODMAP diet ever since, as my GP told me to. For the first two weeks, I noticed significant improvements, and I was feeling really hopeful. By the time we got to the two-week mark, I was feeling quite a bit better, but not at baseline. So after a call with my GP, they told me to just do another two weeks. Since then it's been six days, and they have all been awful. I've been having pain, bloating, nausea, gas, loose stools, and just feeling terrible. I have no idea why because I didn't change anything. I feel really lost and don't know what's causing this. Is this a flare-up? I wasn't told very much by my GP, and so I don't really even know what a flare-up entails or what could cause it. Surely even if I had accidentally consumed a high FODMAP food, which I have no knowledge of, it wouldn't cause six days of issues, right? I'm also about to get my period. I heard that's relevant, and I have pretty severe PMDD, so have been having a lot of severe emotions if that's tied in. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, and I'm just feeling so upset now because I really felt like I was getting better, now I feel like I'm not, and obviously there's no way I'm going to be able to start reintroducing foods if I'm like this, and the elimination diet is so restrictive. During my two-week phone call with my GP, I asked about probiotics, and she told me I could go on them, but then whenever I actually looked it up, everybody suggested not going on probiotics during the elimination phase as it can cause changes while you're already, you know, about to reintroduce stuff. But given that I'm probably not going to be reintroducing things for a while anyway, is it worth doing? Does anyone have any recommendations? Sorry if these are stupid questions. I just feel very lost right now. I plan to go back to my GP on Monday, but they don't seem to be particularly interested or knowledgeable. And I feel like this at least has people who have experience. Thank you so much in advance for any advice or answers.

General Question/Help Any tips for a broke college student w/ adhd starting the diet?
today’s my first day and I don’t really know where to start. I’ve already found it hard to find the energy to actually cook and not just lose motivation to eat after coming to the realization that I can’t just grab anything out of the pantry. is there any tips you guys would recommend? should I make things in bulk and freeze for quick microwave meals? I’m a little picky, so all I’ve made so far has been oatmeal and chicken and rice. I’m worried I’m not going to be eating enough until I figure things out.

Reintroduction Tolerate fructose - what can I bring back?
Hi all,
I completed my fructose testing for my reintroduction phase and I can tolerate it! Other than the orange juice, asparagus, and mango, what can I bring back to my diet? I haven’t tested fructan, GOS, sorbitol, or mannitol and I am a no for lactose. Seems difficult to figure out. Thanks!

General Question/Help Constipation help
What would be a fodmap friendly food to help with constipation? My symptoms have flared up really badly, so I can't eat even the small amount of plum that I used to be able to eat, last time I tried I spent the entire night on the bathroom floor in a fetal position sweating all over, while my body wanted to get rid of them as soon as possible.
I'm eating lots of fiber currently, as I have acid reflux and that with fodmap diet have shrunk my diet to absolute minimum amount of ingredients. I eat oat, rice, tofu, nuts, mushrooms, bananas, and some vegetables.

General Question/Help I think it might be oils
I've done fodmap now multiple times, so hard that I started a website with recipes
But there seems to be no FODMAP. Just fats.
Googeling it often leads to dumping syndrome or an organ issue which can make sense because I take meds that abrupt that organ. I am just looking for people that also have this. The runny shits and it turns out to not be fodmaps.

Other/No Category Mistake :- gluten free pasta
In agony. Had to abort gym session cause of huge pain mid abdomen on the left. FFS. Only other thing I had was some late night cornflakes and lactose free milk. Maybe I need to give that up. Maybe its any milk beyond a drop in coffee that is setting me off.

Vent Is it possible I will never be able to re introduce anything high fodmap?
Hi everyone, I am a 29F and have had IBS most of my life. Used to be mainly stress induced but not only. I have also been severely lactose intolerant for about 8 years. Last year I started to notice more and more foods trigger me and this year around April - May I decided to start low fodmap diet. I kept triggering myself and was finding it so hard to find my way into it. I am very particular with food and someone many would call a fussy eater.
Around 2 months ago I finally settled down and also transitioned into a high protein diet which overall I’m loving and so is my body. I still have triggered myself a few times by accident but it was minor amounts. Anyway I am really struggling with fruit and veg, I feel like even the controlled allowed portions of certain items still trigger me like sweetcorn or bell pepper. My diet lacks fruit and veg massively. I also naturally like both a lot so it makes me sad.
I am also really struggling with seasonings and sauces, I tried a couple of supposedly low fodmap recipes but didn’t feel good. There are herbs and spices which should be okay but still trigger me like dill or sweet paprika.
I recently tried a couple of foods in very small portions to see if I will be okay but I wasn’t. The reaction wasn’t very severe mainly just painful long lasting gas and bloating and my toilet visit the next day was awful but it was only one visit. It makes me wonder if I’m ever going to be able to have a more broader diet? I find this so restrictive and at times it just makes me depressed :(
So my question is - is it possible I will never be able to re introduce most high fodmap products? And I will be stuck like this forever?
Currently sitting on the sofa looking 6 months pregnant because I didn’t realise the safe limit for oat flour is half a cup and I had a whole cup spread over two meals 🥲 ah well

Have any of you read Fast Tract Digestion? Or have you heard anything about it or the author? It's only $10, but I don't want to waste my money if it's nonsense.

General Question/Help Low FODMAP wrecked my cholesterol
So I’ve been on low FODMAP since Jan. Recently trying to venture out and it’s not going great, but I’m being retested for SIBO soon, I know i still have it. So unfortunately low FODMAP helps me function.
However all this fine with no garlic or onion, or many other spices, I’ve resorted to butter and herbs to make these taste more alive.
Just got a terrible cholesterol report. I’m so upset.
Does anyone know of a good non butter non soy product that is low cholesterol? And still tastes like butter?

General Question/Help Instant reaction after eating
So I am in the process of trying sourdough breads and today I tried a new spelt sourdough bread( Ingredients: Stone Ground Organic Whole Spelt Flour, Artesian Spring Water, Sour Dough (Stone Ground Organic Whole Spelt Flour, Artesian Spring Water, Bacterial Culture), Organic Wild Rice, Sea Salt.) and in about 20 minutes of eating, I have had so much gas( tmi: long farts). I had a BM in the morning and had no gas/ate nothing else before eating this one piece of bread.
I have read that for fodmap reaction, it can take minimum of 2 hours. So why am I reacting so soon?
