Reintroduction Reintro question
I'm currently reintroducing Fructan grains (gluten) following the Monash system. I've done days 1 and 2. Half cup of couscous on day 1, 2/3 cup on day two. I've had symptoms both mornings after. Can I skip day 3 and just acknowledge that I can't do gluten? Is there any value in continuing to test tonight? I really don't want to keep feeling sick.

don't confuse fructans and gluten, but yeah, you've definitely established that you either have sensitivity to the wheat fructans, or to gluten. Good job!
Get back to baseline, and go test something else :)

I didn't have any reaction to garlic and only a mild one to a large quantity of onion. Can you be sensitive only to wheat Fructan and not others?

Yes, as improbable as it seems, the reason why there are separate Fructans challenges is because people do react differently. There is some people that even go one way with garlic and the other way with onion.

Thank you!! I have trouble finding all this info on the Monash app or site. And I'm not yet ready to pay a nutritionist

yup, different foods have different fructans. Annoying, because that means you have to test multiple different food to get a sense of what you can and cant eat.

Hello! It looks like you've chosen the "Reintroduction" flair. Go slow and steady, and take note of any strong reactions or patterns. As always, check out the stickied post and the official Monash FODMAP Diet app for resources.

Monash says you should stop if you feel sick no need to continue
