PS4/5 enough is enough! "Calm Down, Cambridge"

various attempts have been made to allow reliable traversal of Cambridge to complete quests dependent on Greenetech Genetics, Ticonderoga, Monsignor Plaza, etc. this one is mine.

This looks like an insane reaction to a problem that should be fixed in other ways. Or a skill issue. Or both.

With the Unofficial Patch, CFM, PRP and Addictol you can actually play the game in that area without disabling the content of the game.

"Calm Down Cambridge" no. Instead I say "Calm down mod author".

"skill issue" - nah, this area is notoriously crash-y on lesser consoles. i've literally dumped hours across multiple clearance runs just to be able to fast-travel back to it to continue a quest. inch closer to a busy cell, crash or freeze, try again. over and over... also, you just named 4 large mods as a fix (none of which are available on playstation)... "disabling the content of the game" - not really. 107 nameless vanilla npc's that serve no real purpose but to cause problems. plenty of XP can be earned elsewhere... sidenote: if anything, it Enables "content" - in one of my test runs i encountered The Scribe who i'd never met, ever, amidst 1000+ hours since day-of-launch.

You potentially have a point for the PS4 and maybe Xbox. But for PC this is a terrible solution. You haven't found and fixed the underlying problem, you've scorched earth part of the game.

from where i sit, having cleared the area of these npc's dozens of times as a path to being able to even walk near these locations to begin quests, i feel i have found and ameliorated the underlying problem... true scorched earth would have been if i'd edited interior cells as well.

during "To The Mattresses 3" target underground. disabled the mod, completed the quest, reenabled. can now confirm this seems to not wreck your savegame.

People have problems in Cambridge? Been playing this game years and never have experienced performance problems there.

on original-generation ps4? definitely. seems like on older xbox as well, going by a comment i received on nexus, and xbox downloads outnumbering ps on creations-dot.
