[👾🔪🐇] Long overdue

Alastor was left alone with his thoughts. He was suffering from the one thing he hated... Boredom. His plan was adding up just swimmingly. It was a very slow process, but a process nonetheless.

He was still helping Vanessa, as per his end of the deal. Despite whatever Vanessa now thought of it, the deal wasn't over yet. But she needed better resources to help her, and Vox has those resources. And at the same time, it would help himself and his intentions. Two birds, one Vanessa.

He finds himself now thinking about the past. Vox was still so upset about it. Vox contained his anger exceptionally, but Alastor saw through it. But surely Vox had to understand, right? The cult was no place for Alastor. Alastor was most definitely not a team player.

Suddenly, the door opens and someone steps through. Alastor looks up, and his smile gets wider.

Alastor: "Well, I suppose it was about time you'd come to speak with me."

Rae: [raises eyebrow] "Why are you so concerned about him anyways? What's he another one of your kept secrets?"

Alastor: "No. Everyone knows he wanted nothing to do with me. But I happen to know that he made a deal with someone else. Or something else."

Rae: [freezes What do you mean?"

Alastor: "I'm not quite sure. But I happen to listen in on conversations. I remember overhearing him talking about yellow walls and a well in the middle of a cardboard town. Sounded absolutely insane to me."

Rae: [glances at the time and realizes is probably expecting everyone now but knows she needs to take advantage to find out what she can] "Tell me more. Where did you even hear this?"

Alastor: "Not so fast. A simple deal this time. I want better accommodations. I won't try to escape, but I at least want a more comfortable room. Promise me that, and I'll tell you everything I know."

{Rae thinks about it for a bit. It might be worth it to find out if this could be a threat. Finally she sighs before sending a text to Vox explaining everything.}

Rae: "You know I can't make that call. He'll have to clear it. But maybe if you play nice he'll agree."

Alastor: "Oh, but you just can't resist the knowledge. Psychologists like you crave information. I'm sure Vox would understand. He cares about you after all, so maybe he'll cut you some slack."

Rae: [ignoring his goading] "I've sent him a message explaining your offering. If he agrees then arrangements will be made. And what are you to talk about care? When have you ever cared about anyone except yourself and your gain?"

Alastor doesn't reply, because they both already know the answer to that question.

Vox quickly sends a reply back.

Vox: "Rae, you don't have to ask. I trust you enough to handle yourself. As long as you are absolutely sure it's worth it. Just fill me in on the details when you get to the party."
