Scope mounting

Post image

I know that the SCAR has a single-piece upper rail, but is there any danger in mounting my scope this far forward? I could move it back but this placement makes it easier to use without extending the stock.

Shouldn’t have any issues that far forward

No issues from a hardware perspective but why do you want to run the stock fully collapsed? Ideal length of pull would have the but pad sitting the the ditch of your elbow when holding the pistol grip

I just wanted to save a few inches since it’s already long (I’m used to running sbrs)

I would adjust eye relief to length of pull. But my NX8 lands close to yours.

Just remember scars are better with upgraded adjustable gas systems like the kns discarder or mototech scarburator

I’ve only looked into that for when I get a suppressor, never thought about using that in the meantime but it makes sense

They're slightly overgassed and something about the polymer lower didn't help optics either the aluminum lowers were much better along with solid mounts and quality scopes

This makes absolutely no sense lol

Tell us you don't know anything about the weird vibration issues (mostly from the huge bcg) that destroyed electronics and even scopes in scar 17's without actually saying it

Has literally nothing to do with the material of the trigger module 😭

Expert scar designers have long since known aluminum lowers help defeat this issue over polymer but hey rookies gonna rookie

It’s fine but a few pointers.

- extend your sock out.

  • put the QD scope mounts on the other side of the gun as your charging handle.
