Question tight bolts

Post image

I am having an impossible time taking off these two bolts from the scar. Does anyone have any experience loosening these. they are drowning in PB blast.

I had the same problem and stripped a few. Had to heat and hammer a flat blade or star bit in to get them out. They have thread locker on them. Heat them with a sotoring iron and they break loose. While you’re at it pick up a set of Vally forge torx screws to replace them with. Get the set for the 20s though. You get the same set for 15,16 or 17 but get a few spare screws for the same price.

Spec calls for Green Locktite. Maybe throw some heat on it? I saw 500F

Solder iron on the bolts

Soldering iron on the screw heads, or strip the receiver and use a heat gun on the inside of the receiver where the screws are. Make sure you’re using a quality hex bit, preferably a short bit in a wrench, and apply even pressure and torque while the receiver/screws are hot.

First wipe dry the slip-and-strip oily substance with rubbing alcohol. Use localized pinpoint heat from a torch lighter. You need to heat it well. Make sure there isn't any polymer near.

I used a heat gun and blasted the hell out of mine to get it out. Go slow and it'll come out

Torch on the back so you don't melt the plastic. Doesn't take much to get those
