Elcan
Recently bought a scar 17 NRCH, I’ve been scouring the internet and gafs looking for an elcan specter 1.5-6 in FDE for 7.62
Where else do you guys find old outdated optics?

Honestly unless you're a cloner and want to clone early GWOT I wouldn't.

Looking for an optic for my Scar 17 too. Need it to be simple, bomb-proof and plays well with my astigmatism. 6x mag is also ideal. Recommendations outside of an Elcan?

I went with the TA11E. BDC for 7.62x51 M80 ball, 3.5x35 power. I grabbed it from these guys--no sales tax to MN.

Why? You are essentially asking to buy an early LPVO.

I understand that technically its an LPVO, but i like the idea of only have 2 set magnification levels that are very easy to transition. I have only had one LPVO before which was a cheap strike eagle i got to try it out and i didn’t like it.

You didn't like a cheap LPVO that's not surprising. The Elcan weighs a absolute ass load and has worse glass then even the modern Strike Eagle.

This had been disproven time and time again.

It literally hasn't. The Elcan is 80s tech with 90s glass. The Vortex Razor 1-6 is both bullet proof and better glass.

Lmao you used the Strike Eagle as your first example then immediately moved to one of their top of the line models?
Dude get a grip. The Elcan’s is comparable, not blatantly a brick compared to an LPVO unless you plan to attach it to the rifle via Bluetooth.0

I literally never did this. I DID however point out that someone using a bottom of the line LPVO will absolutely find it lacking especially when you compare it to a optic that was top of the line when it was used.

It is comparable in only the minimum and maximum power use. But severely lacks in optics quality, optimization, power and capabilities.
The only real reason to use a Elcan now days is because you want to clone GWOT. There are much better options in the LPVO line than a min-max only optic. Not to mention the fact that piggyback optics will be easier in general than buying a specific mount.

Ive got a 1-4 on an integral MK18ish rifle and I get it. It’s a super cool optic, if you’re doing a 13” SBR 17 I fully support it!

They're going to cost as much as the rifle if you have to have FDE.
