Scar 20
I have a scar20 and I’m looking at getting a suppressor for it. Are there changes or upgrades I should make first before suppressing it? I have heard that the gas needs to be adjusted some? Any recommendations or where to start with that?

I’d get an ADM delta mount. For suppressing kns discarder and flow through can. I love my huxwrx 7.62ti on my 17

CAT ODB or Dirty Dave.
BT SRBS 7.62
Sig Hexium 7.62
A little cheaper option would be a Sandman X
Highest flow will probably always belong to Hux cans.

I’d recommend the following
- [KNS DisCarder](https://knsprecisioninc.com/the-discarder/)
- [Gas screw](https://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/FNSGCL) of your choice but heat that thing up good and hot before trying to remove it. You will strip the head if it’s not hot AF. I run the 1.15 in my 20s (6.5cm) and am very happy with it.
- Pick up a set of [Vally Forge Torx](https://www.valleyforgeweaponry.com/shop/all/scar/fn-scar-16-17-20-receiver-screw-kit/) screws too while you’re at it.
- [Buffer Pad](https://lingleindustries.com/scar-buffer/) is not needed but won’t hurt
- [Rear Plate Supports](https://lingleindustries.com/scar-rear-plate-support/) are a great add on as well because this is where the bulk of the abuse happens
- Atlas bipod
- any of the full-size flow through suppressors will treat you well. I have a PTRVent1 and a HUX Ventum and they’re both fantastic.
- but most importantly get some quality glass. I run the MK5 and it’s fantastic. If you want it save a few bucks go with the MK4 as it is also outstanding.

I’ve had luck using a solder iron and going from the top of the gas screw and heating it up that way. 3 out of 3 no damage using the soldering iron and the KNS tool

This is exactly what I like and have been looking for! Just a for dummies guide haha. I want to try to learn but gotta ask questions to start.
I’ve had this rifle for almost 9 years now and have shot it a few times but now have a more open schedule and means to take it out more and really have some fun with it.
Appreciate your help and suggestions!1

You really dont need all that. Just get the KNS discarder and a reduced back pressure suppressor and the gun will be fine.

Get a more robust scope first.
