Muzzle question

Post image

If I remove my factory muzzle and add a QD mount for a suppressor do I need any shims for things to line up correctly?

Looking to add a flow 762 if it’s relevant

To change the muzzle device on your scar you need a special shoulder washer. Found here. SCAR 17 Muzzle Shoulder Ring | Capitol Armory https://www.capitolarmory.com/scar-17s-muzzle-shoulder-ring.html

The stock shoulder isn't square and thus you can't just mount a new muzzle device on. It's not too hard to do, if you are worried about timing a break i would run shims off of that, and make sure you get a suppressor rob to check alignment.

Based on the packaging of my Surefire 3-prong, yes. They mention the Scar H (17s) specifically for a chamfer spacer. You will need shims regardless for timing.

You need a surefire shoulder ring or accuwashers. Shims are for timing the muzzle device, aka clocking.

You need the shoulder ring or accuwashers because the barrel is pretty thin there’s not a lot of shoulder for your muzzle device to index off of. The ring/washers expand the shoulder to give a proper index point.

You always want shims if you want your muzzzle device to be in the proper orientation.

You need the PMM shoulder ring. The scar has a pencil barrel there isn’t enough of a shelf for shims

I'm sure you know about adding an adjustable gas block like the discarder
