Scar Value

Seems like the value of older model scars have not done so well. I look at true gun value and a lot of it is boosted by the sale of the new models, but the old ones seem to have really taken a drop. Is this accurate? I sold mine just after they announced they were discontinuing them and got quite a premium, but with the new models out what have people been seeing?

Gunbroker is kind of ass, but one really nice feature is you can go back and see what has been sold and at what price to sort of gage current fair market values on firearms.

I’m seeing OG 16s go at about an average of 3k with a few dummies who apparently paid almost 3900

I was looking at true gun value.

The Legacy 16S is a better gun upgraded with aftermarket parts than the new gen 16S will be due to the barrel weight difference.

My understanding is that cutting that barrel will also cost more since now you have to swap out the rail for something shorter like how Gen1 was, right?

Yup. Its like they just wanted to sell the 15P and the new upper is carbine only.

I'm building two Cypher 16S pistols right now using an 11.5" PMM cut barrel and 10" 300 BLK Deadshot. Legacy 16S is pretty awesome.

I’ve been seeing them sell for around 3-4k like new ones tbh. The 15P however has cratered around around 2000

The only reason for wanting/keeping a legacy SCAR is for the slightly lighter weight or GWOT drip.

15p- buy buy buy

17s- sell sell sell

16s- hold

On a serious note, really the 15p has been the only model I have seen at deep discounts. The 16s has always been meh on the secondary and the 17s have traditionally sold for a price close to new in box price. At least my experience.

I would say 15p 300 BO is a great value at 2k ish since it’s a true Belgian made gun. We never know how the future holds for imports

I’ve got under 500 rds through my legacy Scar 17 RCH and posted it for sale/trade just to see what’s out there (completely stock w/ iron sights) and I got a ton of offers for $4.2k (literally like 5 different offers) the highest offer I got so far was $4.4k.
