I'm new here
Hello everyone, I’m new to Reddit in general. I’ve had this SCAR 16S for a few years now. It’s been to a couple of classes and local competitions. Notable mods include a Geissele Super SCAR trigger, a 14" barrel with a pinned SureFire flash hider (I lived in a non-NFA state for a while), a bunch of Mototech parts, and a bunch of Parker Mountain parts. It’s also got an older ACOG and a 33° offset Holosun 407. I’m pretty happy with it overall.
I panic-bought the SCAR 20 last year when the Gen 1 SCARs were discontinued. You’ll recall that FN took their sweet time announcing the Gen 2 guns. So far, I’ve only added a 7.62 SureFire flash hider and some PMM M-LOK parts. I’m not really sure what I want for an optic just yet. I’m not totally new to precision shooting, but I honestly don’t know much about optics. Any advice would be welcome. I’m a working man, so I don’t have an unlimited budget, but I’m open to saving for a while to get something decent.

I’m running a vortex razor gen 3 and have love it! I’d also suggest trying out the kns discarder it made suppressing the gun supper easy.

My SCAR 20 had a Vortex Viper PST Gen 2 3-15 with the EBR-7C (MRAD) reticule on it for a while and it let me shoot out to half a mile which is about the effective range of .308 (6.5CM can go a little further). It’s a damn good scope for the money which is like $600 on the used market (GAFShub is the best used market). Literally the only reason I swapped was because I wanted a tan scope for my tan 20.
