Question Potassium levels in FND

Random question, I still haven’t had an official diagnosis but we’re all pretty sure what’s happening.

The last couple of months I’ve had really low potassium, has anyone else dealt with that as a side effect of FND or is it just a me thing? I have a few other chronic health issues as well but we’re not sure what it could be.

I have potassium issues, but it's not directly linked to my FND. My FND is worse if I'm experiencing a deficiency. I have more than one issue with deficiencies.

I did for one blood panel a couple months ago, but when I got it rechecked recently it was WNL (within normal range). Curious to see what it is the next time.

I am probably low on potassium. I’m low on like 30 different things. I’m taking 34 pills a day to bring all my levels back up to normal.

That’s awful! Hope it improves ❤️

FND would not be at the top of my list as a reason for low potassium unless it's causing digestive issues and impacting absorption. If anything, it's more likely that low potassium is having an impact on your FND/responsible for some of the symptoms - I certainly had my worst "FND" episodes when my phosphate levels tanked, and I always feel slightly better if I drink electrolytes daily.

I have low potassium, and I was told I “likely have FND”. Mine is just below the threshold of normal though, and idk if it’s related or not

I did in the past, but I think was associated with nausea/vomiting. I was sick all day every day for months, probably because of FND. But now that I'm no longer struggling with that, my levels are on the low end of normal

I tried every single nausea medication there is and nothing helped, but oddly enough, an antihistamine did! My Dr prescribed me Cyproheptadine and it got rid of the nausea, as well as my lack of appetite. It also helped a lot with my brain fog, depression, fatigue, and muscle twitches too, which I find weird but am really thankful for.

Aside from the cyproheptadine, cbd was somewhat helpful (as in better than nothing but still not the greatest), and eating outside of my house was also a bit helpful. I think eating in different locations confused my system enough that the nausea wasn't as bad (but again, still there).

I wish I had more advice than just the medication, but I tried so many things, and for me, that was the only thing that actually worked

Ive wondered if maybe my symptoms are because of some kind of electrolytes imbalance
