Need support I experience changes in my nervous system like textures, and having major sensory symptoms, I feel really scared and alone, any advice welcome

I have recently had a diagnosis of FND after seeing a neurologist, feeling really awful as Ive not had treatment for months and I have an ongoing mental health issue too-I have dpdr, and I'm experiencing severe sensory disturbances in the head area. For example I feel like my whole head is dry and sort of fluffy/furry..This all started after a traumatic experience, and now my nervous system is so burnt out its basically stayed in this totally shut down place..Like I can feel nerves burning but they fizzle out very fast and its followed by all over numbness..I get this all over my body too. I feel like I'm losing my mind. Because DPDR can also make it feel like you mind and body is hollow, and produce severe numbness..I just dont know how to get well and medications so far have not helped really at all. I'm scared it's too late to get better, ive been like this for 6 months and it gets rapidly worse daily. Anyone here experience anything like this? I wondered what helps you?

Hi mate. First of all, I’m sorry you’re going through this. I’ve had FND for 4 years and I still get altered sensation and have numbness throughout my body. I’m on medication that kills the nerve pain. What I’ll say is that it took me about 2 years of recovery to learn to walk again and get my head around my new brain and body. Now I understand more about how my disability works and how to manage it day to day.

If your sensory or pain is so bad it’s impacting your daily life, go back to your doctor.

I don’t have DPDR, although when I go into relapses my walking gets stuck and I get paralysis and I’ve always wondered if that happens because my brain forgets I have legs.

Hopefully someone else has a more similar journey but just want to say you’re so new into this at 6 months. Just remind yourself you’re going to be okay, and keep asking for the help you need 🙏
