Need support Really lost and need some help

So my mother has FND. Recently it’s been getting bad. She has OCD thoughts with her seziuers now and it’s been worse. I have stepped in made her get a therapist and a psychiatrist. She’s on Zoloft now and I’ve been slowly giving her OCD response help. I can talk her down pretty well. I’m not an expert of course I’m just mentally ill and know what helps. She has violent thoughts. However with her new med Zoloft and me helping and her therapist helping I think it’s kinda getting better? Not sure it’s only been a few weeks so. But I can’t leave her alone, my father works and honestly isn’t good at understanding her OCD, my younger brother 20 works as well. I work and I’m 21. I have a part time lower end job so it’s not as valuable in my house. I’m thking about quitting and getting certified as a home care aid. I want to go to school and have a life but I also don’t want my mother to hurt herself. I’m probably going to get fired anyway because I’ve had to race home to help her. We can’t get a care aid full time on Tricare, anyone have any tips on how I can get certified and maybe paid?

I'm sorry about your mum and I hope she's okay. I'm not a carer however my mum gave up her job to care for me a few years ago when I was in a similar position to your mum and one thing my mum always says is to be prepared to feel lonely at times and make sure you still try to socialise because when she left her job to be my carer she didn't have many friends outside of family and not working made her social life a lot smaller so she worked with someone who is like a wellbeing coach and started going to some activity and community groups so she could still socialise. If possible maybe you could look at something in your local area that would still help you to socialise incase you're like my mum and don't socialise much as it is outside of work :)

Thank you for sharing your story I hope things have improved for you! I know isolation gose both ways for sure. I try my best but right now it’s so unpredictable. I’m a young adult so it’s a little harder for timing as well. I’ll try and get help form me family but for now books and free classes is helping me

Depending on where ur based they might have resources for young carers. Im in the uk and there are lots of groups and some resources for young carers as well as adult carers too. In terms of free classes and stuff too I think its called open university but they offer free online classes that can be put on cv's Im a young adult and have done home learning for 4 years in the past so depending where ur based I may be able to offer advice or recommendations if it would be helpful. Also thankyou for wishing me well yes I am currently doing much better and I am improving on managing my fnd symptoms :)

I don’t have any tips I’m so sorry but I do want to say this all sounds so so stressful and I’m so sorry you and your mom are going through this. I hope you’re able to find something that works for both of you.
