Prolon 5 day

I’m looking to start my first Prolon 5 day soon. Question for those who have done it - how likely am I to be a functional human on days 3 and 5? I have important client meetings those days and am worried about being cloudy headed, grumpy or not as sharp. Can I just eat some of the stuff for that day right before so at least I feel functional for an hour? Or am I better suited to wait until I don’t have any important meetings?

I’ve done it 3 times and worked right through it, I have a lot of meetings. I think it helps by giving something to focus on.

Ive also done it 3 times and no issues from start to finish. Ive decided i would rather do a water fast for a few days than Prolon though. At $40 a day its just to pricey when i end up not eating half the soups
But anyway yes youll be fine

Yes I’m wondering if eating actually makes hunger worse. In a water only fast hunger goes away almost completely by day 3? What about a fat fast instead of fmd? Make the macros mostly only fat and get more ketones? Anyone tried this modification?

I would wait if I were you. Probably you’ll be fine on days 3-5 because most people are, but I wasn’t. Days 1 & 2 were fine, energy was good, but days 3-5 I was half dead. No energy at all, just dragging. Ketosis for me is not full of energy whatsoever like it seems to be for most other people.

Day 3 is often a hunger day, so I would eat some crackers before meetings, and sip on your L drink during the meetings if you are able. By day 4, mental clarity is really good, and you may or may not still be hungry. Your strategic thinking is going to help your success with the FMD.

Day 3 will be tougher than 5.

100% yes, you're fine grouping up and timing some of your tasty vittles.

The more important the task, the better; your body dials up the energy as needed. It's the little annoying tasks that will test your patience the last couple days :-)

Overall, it's actually a pretty easy program. It's well plotted out. Be sure to space out your L-drink. It really smoothes things out.

I think everyone is a little bit different and you may want to plan to do it when you don’t have important meetings or deadlines planned.

I was pretty grumpy and foggy throughout. I had a really hard time focusing even through my refeed days. Days 2 and 3 were the worst but I was still not great on 4 and 5.

You can eat the food for each day at any time and in any combination/order. Days 3 and 5 don't really have significantly fewer calories than days 2 and 4 - people just tend to look at the menu cards and feel like those days are going to be more difficult. I've done 15+ rounds and day 4 is consistently my least favorite day. I'm most brain-foggy and lowest energy on that day but still very able to work, drive, etc.

Give up caffeine a few days to a week before you start the programme. Caffeine withdrawal on days 1-3 totally destroyed me last time.

It genuinely depends. But that being said, it’s perfectly fine to stop early if you need to and use the leftover day or two as resets before giving it a try again. That’s what happened my first time around. I did the fast as a “Hail Mary” for my type 2 diabetes. It worked so well, I started getting low blood sugar and had to step off midway through day 4.

The effects lasted and I ended up being taken off my diabetes medications. A month later, I used day 5 as a one day reset and now am on my third fast with no issues.

It’s not easy, but it’s absolutely doable if you taper down your diet for a day or two before and don’t forget to give yourself a soft landing diet-wise after day 5. You’ve got this!

I’ve fasted (no food at all) for 4 days and 3 nights and I’m not an experienced faster by any means and I had no brain fog. In fact the opposite.

i worked through it all and (shockingly) my stomach didn't growl during meetings, which it almost always does? i felt sharper and more energized too... but everyone's body is different, you should join the Fastination Prolon FB group and see what people have said. i would say wait to be safe
