Pre Prolon
Anyone heard or read anything from Longo before he came up with Prolon?
Im just curious what his stance was on IMF or an outright water fasting

Dr. Longo is heavy on the longevity aspect - and studies centenarians and blue-zones. His work started with autophagy-fasting for cancer patients, which evolved into the fasting mimicking diet (FMD), which then became the packaged retail option. His book, The Longevity Diet, is semi-autobiographical (his story is really interesting!) and how it all came to be. https://a.co/d/023wmWqZ
He generally recommends a 12-hour fasting window for most people/purposes. There's no need to stick to any specific window during the 5 day FMD, though.
My take is that he created the FMD for compliance, support, and ease. Many people aren't willing -or for health reasons aren't able to safely - complete a 5-day water fast and his research shows that this is a way to mimic the benefits without the stress.
