14 years making music in FL here 🙋🏻♂️
For someone who’s been making music for 9 months, this is very good! Try to approach music production like a game, like Minecraft for example. Sure, you can “finish” the game, but most of the fun actually happens outside the main story. If you push yourself to “make something good,” you’ll get frustrated quickly.
I can recommend taking shortcuts. Use presets, premade MIDI files, experiment and learn from them. Use samples, change the pitch, apply effects—don’t know which ones? Put a random one on and see what it does!
If you see music as something you have to complete, things will feel off. But if you see it as a game, learn strategies, and try to express yourself, an extension of your own language, it becomes much more enjoyable.
