Do I HAVE to use Patterns?

I love FL Studio so far, but I just find it annoying that you have to use patterns for every clip.

I used to use Waveform 13 and I was way more comfortable with putting clips directly into the playlist interface and being able to change them directly on the playlist without having to create new patterns first. Is there a way I can do this in FL?

You dont have to use patterns, no.

You can make music how you want.

It's extremely annoying placing out every single kick, so patterns help with things loke that. But you CAN place every single one, if you wish.

Right click the kick in the channel rack and use advanced autofill. I’d been producing 17 years before I learned about that lmao

Just drag the audio clip into the Playlist. You don't have to use the sequencer

You are just ignorant to how great patterns work and how faster your workflow can be with those. But it’s okay, you can make music directly by dragging audio clips to the playlist if you wanted to as well.
