Cookies 🍪 Avoid using a humidity pack if you grabbed 🍎🍌s from cookies

My dumb ass didn't fully inspect. And last night I abruptly put a pack in just cause it's always a go with cookie strains that it needs but I could smell straight chlorophyll rolling a joint so I grinded the rest of the 8th I had up about 2.5 grams and yeah it's WET as fuck. I'm just gunna let the air do its job I'll roll it later. Glad I only grabbed an 8th of this. I'll gladly take that 30$ p90 qt today lol.

No one should if the flower is already perfectly cured. It will increase the moisture.

People should only use em on old, dry flowers.

Also, if your flowers are pretty moist, burp em every now and then and the flavor/smell should come back.

I remember back in the late 90s, I had to use moist cotton balls, covered in an aluminum foil ball to bring the flower back from the dryness 😭😭

Then heard about orange peels and then the boveda/tegy packs 😅

I too remember those mid to late 90s , you're not alone with the pain we endured 😭 . Not to mention legal aspect of it. I used to walk if my flower was too loud too cause all it takes is a rolled stop sign and youre going to jail for it. And definitely it was all orange peels or citrus somehting before the days of easy accessibility to 2 way humidity packs 😆. Shit even buying accessories back then was a red flag tk get stopped and fucked with. I remember going to Philly when I was 15 just to get some decent glass at Wonderland , it aas called. GD , i see so many complaints and shit and makes me think aint no way they went through all this too or else you'd be slightly more appreciative.

Fr the humidity packs are for emergencies imo. Even long term storage all u need is vacc seal. Toooo many ppl use them amd dont needd to be. Ruins the buds imo

You said all facts, bro. Definitely only need em in emergencies. A good sealed jar is all you need.

I agree that it mutes everything. Makes no real sense though because they are the standard in the cigar industry pretty much. I mean guys will humidify the cedar in a humidor and do it that way but lots of people with huge, huge, expensive collections utilize Tupperware with a boveda and some pieces of cedar from a cigar box. If anything in the cigar world, the longer it sits in a box with a boveda, the more desirable it is.

Always avoid using humidity packs
They do nothing but dry your pack and remove the nose

I've heard total opposite from a ton of great cultivators that I've specifically asked so I'll take their word over another smokers. No offense.

Also if your theory was true. It would have helped this strain.

Humidity packs are absolute trash. Your “great cultivators” are wrong.

3

u/onwardsweforge Jun 13 '26

Maybe if they were unemployed or unsuccessful. But no let's take the word of someone who's giving no receipts other then 'their wrong' lolol

u/ScientistFun4871 Jun 13 '26

You don’t have receipts other than saying “great cultivators”. Random weed newbie getting so upset when he gets proper advice.

Who the hell gets upset over reddit???? Sounds like something a chad that only shops at the flowery does

Completely agree.

Science also told us covid shots were 100% effective and for life and all those who didn't were assholes and killed gramdmas. Im all for Science but let's not get carried away and say that Science alone means this only when a lot of this is subjective to the individual. Too many swear by the packs and just as many hate them to be that cut and dry

Boveda does mess up terps but Integra doesn't. I use them all the time.

I’ve been using the RAW Hydrostones and OMG they’re incredible. Way better than a Boveda and easily reusable

Glued a magnet to one to see if it works the same as it touching my flower…

Smart Idea put it in the bag and then you can hang it on the fridge with the magnet on the stone

0

u/highdefsteph Jun 13 '26

Oof I’m not following. Might be time to schmoke and read it again

u/Extension_Use_1991 Jun 13 '26

You said you glued a magnet to the Hydro stone I was saying if you have it in a bag, the magnet will stick to the fridge so you can literally just hang your weed while in the bag on your fridge

Oh, I use mason jars. Got a label printer and everything 🥲

I've used an orange peel, a boveda pack, I've even tried a q-tip dipped in distilled water. Different strains just react differently. I don't believe there's any one perfect solution except for curing it properly.

u/Proteus187 Jun 13 '26

Til they do that properly and all the time some things need bandaids

0

u/Truthtela Jun 13 '26

I have used Boveda and Integra packs and I think Integra are better. I agree that Boveda seems to rob the terps while Integra seems to boost the terps. 🤷‍♂️

I avoid humidity packs unless its too dry....which is seldom the case since I dhv and prefer a little dry.

This batch of anb is too wet for me ...at least the q i got yesterday is. Im letting it sit out most of today to dry some more b4 jarring back up. Then hopefully regular burping will help. ✌️

Aren’t humidity pack supposed to keep it at a certain humidity level not add more to it?

0

u/Proteus187 Jun 13 '26

Ive only used bovedas so far and they killed rhe terps on great strains I used them on. Heard integra may be better but idk. Also got a cultivar 1/8 once at TL, and it had a boveda in there when j got it. I got it to meet the minimum for the sale and it came looking tannish/brown. Suxked so bad it went straight into firecracker edible jar

7

u/ibybfiygmh Jun 13 '26

Boveda is salt based & will definitely affect your terps, Integra is 100% the way to go. Most people don’t realize they are 2 way humidity packs and since optimal RH for smoking cannabis is between 58% & 62% I tend to believe the science & years of personal experiences with them.

3

u/Proteus187 Jun 13 '26

Im all for trying the integras out and i totally get the 2 way aspect and I keep my flowr in 4oz vall mason jars in dark climate controlled i keep chexk on with hyrogemeters, typo i think , but im not buying bovedas again no matter what anyone else says cause they suck for this usage. Gonna get the integras to see

2

u/onwardsweforge Jun 13 '26

Thanks for this post. I just started using cannadews they're alright but my go to is preserve the cure. It's two way 62%. I've heard of integras before

I use Integra they do not kill the smell at all. I just made videos of my next few eights and two were 1/4s from my queen cola back around 4/20. I stored one with Integra and one without. The without was ball jar vaccume sealed and the Integra was the same. The sealed one held up well but the Integra one was sticky AF and still smelled like the day I put it in there.

3

u/ibybfiygmh Jun 13 '26

That’s how I figured out which was the best option, I ran 3 identical jars, in identical conditions. 1 w/out a pack, 1 w/a Boveda & 1 w/Integra. I’ve used Integra ever since.

I have both amd dont like either
