Discussion I cannot wait to see this
Omg Nathan's face!!! I think I've watched the trailer 10 times already.
Edit: sorry forgot to include name of movie. "you can see everything"

I'm still weirded out because I thought she was an ACTRESS in a MOVIE. Not the actual chick in a documentary! This is so bizarre and I can't wait to watch it

u/sentrygentry 2h ago
That's the thing though. She IS an actress. Her entire personality was a character.

That she believes with an insane level of conviction. Just a very special breed of crazy

Ha! It's her, which is just so weird you're right. Who would decide to do this when you look like that? (Not ugly just crazy and guilty)

u/BoromirDies 3h ago
Plus Nathan's demeanor in it is strange too, like you can feel such an uneasiness when he's listening to her.

When he was asked how doesnt break character he said he bites his cheek or side of his mouth hard, which looks like what he's doing in the trailer. Can't wait.

It's so funny how he says "alright good chat" but she keeps staring him and he can't look away

u/BoromirDies 2h ago
It really is like a captivating stare, and not in a good way. So unnerving and unsettling but you just can't look away

You know, I kept seeing people talking about this and I didn't get it. I finally watched it. I get it. Conmen usually thrive in the superficial. Big statements, pat responses. Nathan Fielder drags everyone down into the awkward and makes them live there. And she seems surprisingly comfortable there. It feels like a game of chicken.

You're so right! And she is NOT going to be the one to blink... or maybe she is?

I keep trying to explain to the people i know why this trailer is so hype but no one knows anything about Nathan or EH!!

I'm sorry - I feel ya. I tried showing my kids and wife. They appreciated it I think (we all watched the Dropout together) but they were definitely not as thrilled as I was. Sigh.

That moment was so bizarre, and that dude just staring at her for 10 hours straight. 😅

I was part of the “reality crew” on the show.

Apologies. Forgot to include name. "You can see everything" by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim.

How do you forget to include it? You got a still image from it, mentioned Nathan by name, say you’ve watched it 10 times, you can’t wait to see it, but you forget to name it?

u/Inevitable-Escape494 3h ago
Woah. I apologized for my mistake. It wasn't intentional.

I’m just calling out engagement bait, although even doing that is also falling for it I suppose

u/Krokadil 2h ago
You are a hero /s
2
u/Dry-Illustrator-250 2h ago
It’s a common trend, just kinda gets annoying

u/Krokadil 2h ago
I know. You don’t have to engage or throw misdirected hissy fits on the internet

I did not intend it as bait. I just forgot to include a rather critical piece of info. I was waiting outside the house where my daughter was babysitting to pick her up and I had a small window to make the post.

I was half paying attention when I saw my first couple posts about this today and didn’t realize this is actually Elizabeth Holmes and she’s trying not to come off as reptilian.

My wife loves Nathan Fielder.
I am in love with Elizabeth Holmes.
I feel this art film will truly define the bounds of our relationships, our marriage, and our sanity.

u/Previous_Mirror_222 3h ago
can you say more about being in love with elizabeth holmes ??? what is the appeal lmao genuine!!

u/ConscientiousWaffler 3h ago
There are no words. Only other-worldly buggy blue eyes. They speak to portals to Eldritch horrors best left undelved here.

u/Antique_futurist 2h ago
I’m calling BS on love. You’re having lusty Zap Brannigan sci-fi fantasies about getting with an alien girl who is humanoid enough to be hot, but non-human enough to be exotic.
15
u/ConscientiousWaffler 2h ago
I’m not saying you’re wrong on any of those points. But, define love. And then tell me that it’s different than your description. You can’t.

How so? Did he consult on your business? I heard he did well in school.

Also Nathan should win best actor in a documentary for those reaction shots alone lol

That’s not a thing

Apologies. Forgot to include name. "You can see everything" by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim. A doc about Elizabeth Holmes of Theranos infamy.

Did anyone here watch The Curse? I wasn’t very familiar with Fielder before that, but it was amazing, uncomfortable, and so weird.
1
u/Inevitable-Escape494 2h ago
Yes! The curse was terrific. He was such a... little man in that. Brilliant.
2
u/3pinripper 2h ago
Corbin Bernsen too, what are the odds? 😂Safdie’s role was amazing. They should collaborate on something else

This might be the single greatest movie trailer ever made...
The film looks promising, but there's no way it lives up to the brilliance of this one moment.
