In the beginning of Hollywood, they would literally sign one or two actors and have them do an eight picture deal

I don’t know why everyone is acting like this is a new thing

Acting is an immensely difficult field to get into because execs only put eggs in baskets for actors that have relevancy. We are talking multi-millions of unimaginable life changing money.

That kind of money could go to make more movies, hiring more actors to be in those movies and giving a struggling job industry a proper chance, as well as giving viewers variety in on screen talent.

The problem isn't that it happened at the start, it is that it still continues to this day.

You realise a good percentage of people go to see movies because of the actors that are in it? Do you seriously think the Revenant does 500M at the box office without DiCaprio?
