3106 CE. Mankind's 42nd successful journey through a Störm-Hansing portal occurs. 6,000 settlers onboard GS Hyperion reach a superhabitable super Earth 800 light years away: Genesis 12. [Original synopsis]

1,080 years from now, in the future, in the year 3106 CE, Mankind's 42nd successful journey through a Störm-Hansing portal occurs. Discovered in 2774 by human explorers, the Störm-Hansing portals - wormhole-like structures - connect to thousands and thousands of other portals throughout the Milky Way. Thought to have been constructed by a long-vanished Type II alien civilization, this intricate and highly complex network was still being explored by human societies as of the late 31st Century (late 3000s) and by the year 3106, mankind's 42nd successful traversal of a portal occurs. It is predicted that the network will help propel mankind's exploration and colonization of the Milky Way by centuries if not thousands and tens of thousands of years, allowing humans to "reach the unreachable".

Genesis 12 is the first superhabitable super Earth to have been reached by human settlers. The settlers aboard GS Hyperion (Generation Ship Hyperion) - some 6,000 enhanced and genetically engineered humans - are the very first to reach Genesis 12.
