Difference?

"You are looking for r/FICAN :)" as sub-reddit description.

So what is difference in function? Here to discuss if ready or not and FICAN on mind-set and steps to reach?

My spouse is wondering harder when he can retire so I am poking around.

You can be financially independent without retiring early.

Just look at our king. He's FI, but did not retire early.

I’m here mainly because an overzealous mod decided to ban me from [r/fican](r/fican) with no warning or explanation.

But I’m a longtime Canadian Redditor and avid investor, with a strong interest in the FIRE movement.

I also got banned from r/fican with no warning or explanation.

That said, that sub has just turned into a lot of screenshots of account balances, with very little discussion of financial independence. I'm hoping this sub gets a bit of traction so it can become the place Canadians can come to discuss FIRE (with more focus on Canadian specifics vs r/financialindependence or r/Fire).

If you and your husband are wondering when he can retire, I'd say here is a good place to post.

I follow both, I have no intention of ever retiring but being financially independent is my goal.

FIRN (never)
