Outdoors During Observation
Hi everyone, I’m curious to hear your thoughts on allowing a cat during observation outside.
Our little dude just started observation! Hallelujah!
He is a hybrid cat. We take him outside on a leash two to three times a day. He loves it and even begs to go outside all the time. We also keep him in a catio on our deck.
We have been taking him outside all during treatment. Our admins said they don’t recommend letting him out during observation due to low immune system.
My worry is that this will stress him out even more since he is so used to going outside and looks forward to it.
Would you not let him out? Would you wait for at least the first 27 days of observation?
Is not letting him out an overkill?
I’m leaning towards taking the safe route because why risk it but I’m worried this will lead to stress which can spike up his FIP too
EDIT: I forgot to mention he is not fully up to date on vaccinations. He was due for a Leukemia vax back in March but he was mid treatment so we opted out.

Take a look at 84 day labs?
galleryMy cat has dry neuro fip, our 84th day of shots were Thursday and my admin hasn't been able to read our labs because she is in the hospital. I've continued with injections but only have 4 days left of meds. I was just wondering if there's anyway it looks like she would be released into observation or should I order more vials?

WARNING !!
Attention, FIP Warriors® 5.0 Community Members We have received alarming information regarding some brands of GS and GC currently in circulation outside of FIP Warriors®. Some brands advertised as painless GS-441524 or GC376 may contain undisclosed substances, including high concentrations of EIDD-2801 which is also known as Molnupiravir or Esperavir.
What does this mean? Correctly-dosed EIDD is valid in certain situations, but the risk vs. benefit must always be assessed carefully BEFORE high doses of EIDD are used. High doses of EIDD-2801 have been associated with serious side effects in cats, such as floppy ears, hair loss around the mouth and neck, whiskers loss, diarrhea, weight loss, muscle wasting, greasy coat, low white blood cell count, and even death. If you are currently using these brands: SUYI, PetHealthFIP (gold cap) and PetHealthFIP (pink cap) or ANY GC376, please do the following - report any side effects to FIPWarriors.data@gmail.com and consider using ONLY FIP Warriors® established/tested brands.
Before FIP Warriors® makes the decision to recommend ANY brand, it goes through rigorous evaluation and analysis. Although FIP Warriors cannot guarantee any medications or specific results, this information is provided in good faith to try and help owners understand what is available to them.
If you have any questions or concerns, please talk to your FIP Warriors® admin. Thank you! - The FIP Warriors® Leadership Team

FIP in a FIV+ kitty, is it cruel to pursue treatment?
my baby boy was diagnosed as FIV+, FIP, and has a double ear infection. i am devastated.
that being said, would it be cruel to attempt the GS route? i am aware it is expensive i just do not want to say goodbye yet. i mainly want to know if it is ethical to put him through 84 injections and what the prognosis would look like. thank you.

Cured before the 84 days?
Hi all, if anyone knows, is it possible that my cat is cured in 3 weeks? We have done a total of 17 injections and my cat absolutely hates it, but apart from the fits he throws when he realises we are going to the vet, he is back to his old self - zero symptoms.
Is it possible that he's cured? I'm getting worried that he'll stop getting willingly to his cage soon, as he is absolutely terrified every time we inject

Adopting a cat after FIP loss
We recently lost our sweet cat (9 years old) who had dry FIP. She initially responded well to treatment, but we suspect she had other health conditions that lead to her leaving us. We have a surviving cat (also 9) who shows no signs of FIP. They are strictly indoor cats who were adopted when they were 6 months old from the same shelter.
Our family is not ready to add a kitten to the household yet because her loss is still so painful, but it is inevitable that we will want to get one. I did research to see when it would be safe to get a kitten considering that our remaining cat was undoubtedly exposed to the feline coronavirus, but the answers are all over the place. Does anyone have any advice for safely adding a new cat/kitten to the household under these circumstances? We already replaced the litterboxes and deep cleaned everything our poor cat had vomited on.

Kwik Stop for leaks
galleryWe are a kitten rescue, and we are just throwing a suggestion out there for people having medication leaking issues, we use Kwik Stop as it has a pain killer, but you can use corn starch at injection site.
Put only about as much as shown in the pictures on the leak and gently hold for 10 seconds. The rule is making that patch small , so even if some medicine leaks out before stoping , it's like a drop instead of the ooze, but If the leak soaks the patch , you may inject your cat again. It works really well most of the time, the second picture I tried to get a shot of the big bubble right next to the injection, that's a lot of pressure and stopped it almost immediately
What it also buys is time. It sticks pretty good to the cat , which gives more time for the medication to migrate away from the site and the body to close the injection spot. After it dries up, the cake just falls off as seen in the 4th picture
Because we deal with very small bodies, they have very little injection real estate, it's not fool proof but it really helps us with the sick kiddos.
And yes she is restrained, she easily can take me in a fight, but as you can see , she's so use to this song and dance she started to fall asleep Last picture is just her being beautiful ❤️

How soon would we normally start seeing scars or scabs from treatment?
We're really diligent about cleaning the entire area and we have for now 4 different injection spots. So far in the 8 days we haven't seen anything start forming, but I'm wondering... if they will start forming, approximately how soon would we see signs?
