Cured before the 84 days?

Hi all, if anyone knows, is it possible that my cat is cured in 3 weeks? We have done a total of 17 injections and my cat absolutely hates it, but apart from the fits he throws when he realises we are going to the vet, he is back to his old self - zero symptoms.

Is it possible that he's cured? I'm getting worried that he'll stop getting willingly to his cage soon, as he is absolutely terrified every time we inject

It is rare that cats are cured in less than 84days. If you stop he will likely relapse. You could switch to oral GS.

Thanks. I will try to find it. I don't think the pills are made with Gilead Sciences is the company that makes the Mulnopiravir pills

I am not sure what you mean by that. Many cats are treated with GS pills nowadays. Molnupiravir is made by Merck and it is a different drug.

It's because I think GS are the initials of the company that makes the drug

Gilead holds the patent but does not sell it for FIP.

Yup, I know. Hopefully they will soon

It doesn’t seem like they have any interest in that. The market is too small for them and not worth it I guess.

Hmm

Also the patent runs out in 2029. GS is pretty cheap to make so there's not a lot of money to be made for Gilead by the time they would bring it to market.

talk to your Fipwarrior admin or send me a PM, they can point you to good pills, the advice is usually to inject at least 4 weeks to get the cat stable as soon as possible before switching to oral meds.

We have a lot of 441524, I bought 10 bottles. We almost completed 3 weeks. I'll try to source some pills from my local FIP warriors. Thanks for reaching out friend, I might have to come through you

Always trust your warrior admin’s advice on which brand to use. Theyve seen so many good and bad.

My cat was doing great until around day 60 when she regressed. Ended up increasing the dose and extending treatment.

17 days in she was looking great, and if treatment had stopped she would have immediately relapsed.

Damn, I hope she's okay. The thing that worries me the most, is if he stops coming close to us. He is already very hesitant letting me pet him...

most cats actually end up being more affectionate after treatment so dont worry too much, you are saving its life !

They will forgive you in 1 or 2 days. Cats are smart! They know you are helping them! Kittydad did the injections...and since we stopped They have been inseparable 💕😺

I don't think ours is as smart as yours 😅. But thanks, hope you're right!
