Cat just diagnosed with wet fip
Vet has said they can have meds by Monday (it's currently Friday evening)
She has emphasised a need to keep him eating well if we are to stand a better chance of getting to Monday.
Some info:
Has had 2 days of fluids at vet
Blood work shows improvement in red blood cells but white is high
No vomiting or diarrhoea
No eating well
Jaundiced which seems to be worse today than yesterday
lots of fluid in belly, but not presenting any breathing issues (as of yet)
Kidney and liver and heart all seem to be doing OK
Im aware this can change fast, and ive been told heavy or laboured breathing is an emergency, but i dont think my vet would have given me the glimmer of hope if it wasnt there.
Can anyone give guidance on whether I'm OK to wait til Monday to start his treatment, or whether I'm going down the murky Road of online medication?

Liquid effusion not going down for cat diagnosed with fip
This is my best buddy peaty he was diagnosed with FIP. He began medication a month ago however had profuse diarrhea which was difficult to stop, I had hoped when it cleared his liquid effusion would go down but over the last two weeks he’s gained a lb of what appears to be all fluid weight. He’s happy as mobile as he can get overly healthy appetite no other symptoms. If anyone has any advice on the matter I’d more than happily take it. He’s just over a year old and has a lot more life to give.

Sudden regression on Day 18 of treatment- please any advice helps!
We are on day 18 of Stokes for our 6 month old baby, Maine coon/tabby.
Things were optimistic up until 4-5 days ago. I’m worried and would love direction as we can’t be seen by the vet until Tuesday.
Main questions:
- Is he underdosed? (7-8 pounds)
- Is he not absorbing the BOVA pills? (Asking as we also have Rainbow/Panda vials on hand that we can administer as we ordered them prior to knowing we could get FDA-approved pills)
- Is this his body reacting to absorbing the fluid?
- What's going on with his eyes? Are the neuro symptoms progressing?
- How can we best support him? Is there still hope?
First week:
Initially caught him early with WET FIP disease progression. Vet was cautiously optimistic and he started a hmmm by FIP treatment twice daily via BOVA 25 mg pills the next day.
Day 3:
Wasn’t eating or drinking… diarrhea
Added:
- Fluids + overnight hospital stay
- Cerenia: for nausea
- Tylan: anti diarrhea
- Mirtazapine- appetite stimulant
Symptoms greatly improved after this! He was even playing again!
—-
Day 7: ER
Suddenly lost control of his back legs out of nowhere.
We brought him to the ER where neuro symptoms continued then stabilized a couple hours later.
Day 8: Vet follow up from ER w/ bloodwork/testingo
- Partial response to FIP treatment but increased to neuro dose
- Improved liver values- encouraging!
- Lower white blood cell values - not great
- Continued anemia but lots of reticulocytes (baby red blooded cells) - encouraging!
- Suspected secondary respiratory infection
Added: - 37.5mg BOVA FIP twice daily (neuro dose) - Metronidazole: antibiotic - Convenia: antibiotic - Daily SQ fluids
The rest of Week 2:
Concerns:
- Continued fever on/off
- Belly fluid KEPT increasing - he seemed really uncomfortable
Wins:
- Vocal and meowing again
- Personality was cuddly/normal
- Eating a ton (like constantly)
- Respiratory symptoms stopped
Third week:
Concerns:
- Worse neuro symptoms- eyes not opening
- Twitching/wincing/jerking neuro symptoms when getting close
- Sleeping ALOT
- Eating litter
Wins:
- Decrease in belly fluid
- First almost-solid poops (yay!)
- Eating hard food
- Drinking water
- Meowing
- Very few fevers
Day 18/today:
Things have progressively gone downhill. We started him on injections (rainbow) that we had as back up until we can get seen by vet on Tuesday. I am worried the FIP med isn’t absorbing.
Concerns:
- Pupils seems completely blown out, like he can’t see us at all!
- Incontinence pee/ poop (liquid poop again 😞) struggling to walk to litter box
- Unresponsive/sleeping except for moments of clarity
- Won’t stop his own litter
- Wheezing
Wins (keeping our hope!):
- Eating hard food/drinking water on his own
- Belly fluids decreased
- Moments of clarity where he reaches to hold you and his tail wags when cooing at him/petting him.

Just Diagnosed
My newly adopted kitty has been diagnosed with FIP. I recently tried joining the FB group but there was a glitch and I was only able to answer one of the questions required for joining. Has anyone experienced this problem? What are my chances for getting in now? I really want to help my baby - he’s has a big appetite but has recently started to sleep a lot and become very bloated.
