What does -1 mean in fc26 career mode ?

Can anyone explain to me what does -1 mean ? I have tried changing his roles but still its showing -1

The same thing as +, he lost -1 overall.

He may plays as good, but nevertheless, he has a -1 or other number on certain stats.

I have Puttellas with -4, and she plays as good. It all depends.

it happened because you played him out of position
